Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Mont-Saint-Michel and Giverny day trips from Paris

Two SkyGate tours to Mont-Saint-Michel share almost the same name but differ in meeting point, options, cancellation and group limits. This guide sets them side by side, with the Giverny coach trip, whose 2026 season ends in October, and the Alligator Bay ticket in Beauvoir.

Quick answer

According to SkyGate's listings, the Trocadéro tour meets at the Cité de l'architecture, includes an English-speaking guide and an English audio guide at the abbey, and is non-refundable; the Pullman Tour Eiffel tour meets at the hotel on rue Jean Rey, has an option with a multilingual audio guide, and can be cancelled for a refund up to 48 hours ahead. Giverny is a separate coach trip with Monet's house and gardens and the Musée des impressionnismes, bookable only until 31 October 2026, Paris time.

Two regions of Normandy, one starting point

Every product here except Alligator Bay starts in Paris, but none of the places is in Paris. Mont-Saint-Michel and Alligator Bay are in the Manche département of Normandy, and Giverny is in the Eure, also in Normandy.[11] Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979.[7] SkyGate's tours give their own clock times where they publish them; XTOUR adds no journey times of its own.

The two Mont-Saint-Michel tours: same trip, different terms

SkyGate sells two tours with almost the same title, and XTOUR names them by their meeting points. Both include shared transfers from Paris, free time on the island and abbey admission.[2][1] The differences are in the terms.

Mont-Saint-Michel Tour from Paris (Trocadéro Meeting Point)

SkyGate's itinerary starts at 7:00 AM in front of the main entrance of the Cité de l'architecture at the Palais de Chaillot, Trocadéro, and ends back in Paris at 9:00 PM. Its one option includes shared transfers, an English-speaking guide, and abbey admission with an English audio guide.[1]

  • Cancellation: non-refundable.[1]
  • Booking limit: up to 25 people per booking.[1]
  • Children: child tickets for ages 4 to 14; under-4s ride free without a reserved seat.[1]
  • Child seats: SkyGate says the coaches have no ISOFIX anchor points and limited three-point seat belts, so parents should bring their own child restraint.[1]

Mont-Saint-Michel Tour from Paris (Pullman Tour Eiffel Meeting Point)

This tour meets outside the Hotel Pullman Tour Eiffel at 22 rue Jean Rey, in Paris's 15th arrondissement; SkyGate's itinerary gives no clock times. It stops for lunch at a nearby restaurant at your own expense, then goes up to the abbey. There are two options.[2]

  • Mont-Saint-Michel Tour from Paris: shared return transfers, abbey admission and an accompanying guide, with free time on site.[2]
  • Mont-Saint-Michel Tour from Paris with Audio Guide: the same, plus a multilingual audio guide in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish.[2]
  • Cancellation: full refund if cancelled at least 48 hours before the travel date.[2]
  • Booking limit: up to 10 people per booking.[2]
  • Children: child tickets for ages 3 to 11; under-2s go free without a reserved seat.[2]
  • Access: SkyGate says the tour is not wheelchair-accessible, strollers cannot be carried, and the climb to the abbey may be hard for people with reduced mobility.[2]

Both listings warn that the abbey requires knees and shoulders to be covered.[2][1] The abbey itself says it is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December, and closed to visitors on Sunday 4 October 2026 for the Via Aeterna music festival.[5][6] The Pullman tour's calendar showed 4 October as open when XTOUR read it, so do not book that date expecting an abbey visit.[2] The abbey says minors must be with an adult, and the village around it is a commune open to all without a ticket.[6] See the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel page on XTOUR.

Giverny: Monet's house and the museum, until 31 October 2026

The Giverny Impressionist Day Trip from Paris with Audio Guide has one option: a return air-conditioned coach, entry to Claude Monet's house and gardens, entry to the Museum of Impressionism, and free time in the village. SkyGate says a multilingual host travels with you, but the visit itself is independent, with an audio guide in a mobile app; bring your own headphones. It meets outside the café Le Champ de Mars at 45 avenue de la Bourdonnais, Paris 7th, where the guide holds a Paris City Vision sign.[3]

The season is the deciding fact. Nouvelle Normandie Tourisme gives the house and gardens' 2026 season as 1 April to 1 November.[8] SkyGate's last bookable date is 31 October 2026, and the listing stops being bookable after that day, Paris time. At the read date the calendar showed only a dozen open dates in October.[3]

The museum SkyGate calls the Museum of Impressionism is the Musée des impressionnismes Giverny at 99 rue Claude Monet. Until 1 November 2026 it is showing a temporary exhibition, Daniel Buren's "Plantations" in situ works, alongside works from its collections; that exhibition is not the permanent collection.[9] The trip can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead, and child tickets cover ages 3 to 11.[3] See the Maison et jardins de Claude Monet and Musée des impressionnismes Giverny pages on XTOUR.

Alligator Bay Ticket: a reptile park in Beauvoir

Alligator Bay is not on the Mont: the operator's address is 62 route du Mont-Saint-Michel, 50170 Beauvoir, and it describes a reptile zoo with more than 700 animals from five continents.[10] SkyGate's ticket is admission only, to the alligator greenhouse, the Labyrinth of Dragons and the Turtle Farm, with no transport.[4] Neither Mont-Saint-Michel tour lists it in its itinerary.[2][1] XTOUR's reading is that it suits a stay near the bay rather than a tour from Paris.

SkyGate says children under 3 enter free without a ticket and ages 3 to 12 need a child ticket. It says the whole route is accessible by wheelchair and pushchair except the observation structures and play areas, and that the Turtle Farm may be only partly open in winter.[4] The operator says it opens every day in summer and on variable days out of season, so check its calendar.[10] The ticket can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead.[4] See the Alligator Bay page on XTOUR.

How to choose

  • Fixed English guiding and a larger party: the Trocadéro tour, if you are sure of the date, since it is non-refundable.[1]
  • Flexibility or a language other than English: the Pullman Tour Eiffel tour with the audio guide option.[2]
  • Monet's garden: Giverny, but only for dates up to 31 October 2026.[3]
  • Already staying near the bay with children: the Alligator Bay ticket.[10][4]

Before you book

  • Avoid Sunday 4 October 2026 for the abbey.[5]
  • Pack clothes that cover knees and shoulders for the abbey.[2][1]
  • Bring headphones for Giverny and a child seat for the Trocadéro coach if your child needs one.[1][3]
  • Children under 4 on the Trocadéro tour and under 2 on the Pullman tour travel free but without a reserved seat.[2][1]
