Lake Maninjau
Danau Maninjau
Lake Maninjau (Danau Maninjau) is a volcanic crater lake in Tanjung Raya district, Agam Regency, West Sumatra.
Why go
This record is the lake, not the town of Maninjau and not the Puncak Lawang viewpoint above it. The Agam regency government's geography page names Danau Maninjau, in Kecamatan Tanjung Raya, as an important geographic feature of the regency, one of its leading tourism destinations and a natural resource for local people. A West Sumatra provincial government report on a 2023 press trip says the visiting journalists viewed the lake from Puncak Lawang. XTOUR states nothing about the road down to the lake, boats or water quality.
