Its own Japanese site calls it Japan's largest Zen temple and says visitors can view the temple and take part in experience programmes; it does not give a sub-temple count on its home page. Wikidata records 1342 and 1337 as inception dates. The temple's home page read on 29 September 2026 did not state hours or an admission fee.
