Why go

Somdet Phra Narai National Museum is run by the Fine Arts Department, which gives its address as Sorasak Road, Tha Hin, Mueang Lopburi. The museum's history page says it was set up in 1924 inside Phra Narai Ratchaniwet, the palace King Narai of Ayutthaya had built at Lopburi from 1666 with French and Italian craftsmen, and calls it Thailand's third national museum. The same page says it now uses three groups of buildings: the Chanthara Phisan hall, with an exhibition on King Narai's reign; the three-storey Phiman Mongkut hall, with exhibitions on Lopburi from prehistory through the Dvaravati and Khmer-influenced periods to Ayutthaya and later, and a top floor shown as the former bedroom of King Rama IV; and the Phra Prathiap buildings, used for further exhibitions. This record is the museum, not the palace site as a whole, which Wikidata keeps as a separate item.
