Cave · Bồ Hòn island, Ha Long Bay, Quảng Ninh
Sửng Sốt Cave
Sửng Sốt Cave (Surprise Cave) is a limestone cave on the Bồ Hòn island group in Ha Long Bay, visited on the bay's VHL2 boat route.
Hạ Long is the city on the north shore of Ha Long Bay in Quảng Ninh, whose administrative unit Wikidata records as dissolved on 1 July 2025; the bay's management board now names that shore by wards such as Tuần Châu, Bãi Cháy and Hạ Long. XTOUR treats the bay's caves and islands, reached by boat from the Tuần Châu and Hạ Long international passenger ports, as places reached from Hạ Long, not in it.

Since 2023 the World Heritage property is no longer just Ha Long Bay: the Committee extended it to the Cat Ba Archipelago, across two provinces with two management boards. This article sets out what the decision says the property includes, how the figures quoted for it differ, and what the Committee has asked of Vietnam since.
Vietnam does not have one rainy season. The national tourism authority's month bands and the national hydro-meteorological forecasting centre's bulletins together show a north with a cold, drizzly winter, a central coast whose main rains come in autumn, and a south with a rainy season through the middle of the year. This article sets out what each body says, where they differ, and where official forecasts and storm warnings are published.
XTOUR plans Vietnam around the cities and towns you sleep in: Hanoi in the north, Hue and Hoi An or Da Nang in the centre, Ho Chi Minh City in the south, with Ha Long, Phong Nha and the Ninh Binh sites reached from a base. This guide says what each base is for, which sites linked to a base lie outside it, where official pages still use pre-2025 place names, and which XTOUR guide takes over.
UNESCO's own list pages refused XTOUR's requests, so this article is built from what each site's managing body and the Thăng Long heritage centre say about recognition. It covers seven properties with readable official pages, names the ones XTOUR could not source, and notes where official pages disagree.
