Sửng Sốt Cave
Hang Sửng Sốt
Sửng Sốt Cave (Surprise Cave) is a limestone cave on the Bồ Hòn island group in Ha Long Bay, visited on the bay's VHL2 boat route.
Why go
Sửng Sốt Cave is a karst cave on the Bồ Hòn island group in Ha Long Bay, about 20 metres above sea level according to the bay's management board. The board describes a freshwater pool in its first chamber and a stalagmite likened to Quan Âm in its last, and explains the name as 'surprise'. It is a stop on the board's VHL2 route, which leaves from the Tuần Châu or Hạ Long international passenger ports and also calls at Ti Tốp Island and Luồn Cave. The board's visitor notes ask travellers to buy bay tickets for the set routes inside the port terminals and not to break stalactites or carve in caves. The record is the cave, not Bồ Hòn island.
