Genting cable cars and theme park tickets compared

Genting Highlands has two separate cable cars and two separate theme parks, which SkyGate mixes into eleven products. In short, the Awana SkyWay is the cable car in every theme-park combo, the Genting SkyWay is the one paired with Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park, and Snow World is sold on its own. Pick the venue first, then check whether the option covers the ride down too.

Two cable cars on two different lines

Genting SkyWay runs from Gohtong Sentral Station at mid-hill to Resorts World Station at the peak, 3.4 km in about 15 minutes, with no stop on the way.[12] The Awana SkyWay is a different line, from Sky Sentral at mid-hill to Genting Highlands Station at Level 4, SkyAvenue, 2.8 km in about 10 minutes. On the Awana line, riders can get off at the middle station, Chin Swee, and continue on the same ticket. On 28 September 2026 the operator listed Genting SkyWay hours as 9AM to 7PM and Awana SkyWay hours as 7AM to 11PM.[12][13]

SkyGate's titles still use the older names, Genting Gohtong Jaya Cable Car and Genting Highlands Premium Outlets Cable Car.[1][2] See the Genting SkyWay and Awana SkyWay pages on XTOUR.

Both lines close for scheduled maintenance in October 2026: Genting SkyWay from 5 to 9 October and Awana SkyWay from 12 to 16 October. The other line stays open from 7am to 11pm during each closure.[14]

The Awana SkyWay Cable Car Ticket

The Awana SkyWay Cable Car Ticket has ten options on SkyGate. Two are the ride alone in a standard gondola, one way or round trip; the other eight are the theme-park combos listed below. SkyGate's highlights mention a glass-floor gondola upgrade, but no option title names one, so XTOUR cannot say that any option includes it. Its notes set a child ticket for riders from 90 to 110 cm.[1]

The Genting SkyWay Cable Car Ticket

The Genting SkyWay Cable Car Ticket has six options. Two are the standard gondola one way or round trip; the other four add Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park and carry the same option IDs as the two Eufloria products.[11][10] SkyGate's notes say it has wheelchair and stroller access.[2]

SkyWorlds, Skytropolis and Snow World are three different venues

Genting SkyWorlds is the outdoor theme park at Resorts World Genting, built across 26 acres with nine themed worlds.[16] Its operator lists daily park hours of 10 AM to 6 PM and says it is closed every Tuesday except on Malaysian national public holidays and school holidays.[15] Skytropolis is a separate indoor theme park with more than 20 rides on Level 1 of First World Plaza, next to SkyAvenue. Its hours are 11AM to 9PM Monday to Friday and Sunday, and 11AM to 10PM on Saturday.[17]

Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Ticket

The Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Ticket has ten options: a One-Day Ticket at a Malaysian or a non-Malaysian rate, and eight combos adding Skytropolis, a one-way or round-trip cable car, or both. The option titles say only "Cable Car", but they carry the same option IDs as the Awana SkyWay page, and the page's own notes include an Awana Skyway section.[1][3] XTOUR therefore reads the ride in these combos as the Awana SkyWay.

SkyGate's SkyWorlds conditions say tickets must be booked one day in advance, entry is through the SkyAvenue Gateway at Level G of SkyAvenue, and Malaysian rates need a physical Malaysian identity card. This page and three combo pages add that a visit date must be reserved in the Genting SkyWorlds app, after which the ticket counts as used and cannot be rescheduled.[8][5][6] SkyGate words the Tuesday closure as excepting public holidays only, while the park also excepts school holidays.[15][3] XTOUR's advice is to go by the park's own calendar.

Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Ticket

The Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Ticket has twelve options. Six are Skytropolis alone: a One-Day Unlimited Ride Pass, a pay-per-ride ticket for family or adventure rides, and one for thrill rides, each at a Malaysian or a non-Malaysian rate.[4] SkyGate does not say how many rides a pay-per-ride ticket covers, and XTOUR has not verified it. The other six are the shared combos, and this page's notes call the cable car by its old name, the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets Cable Car.[4] Resorts World Genting's own directions to Skytropolis are to take that cable car to SkyAvenue Station and head to Level 1.[17] SkyGate points to the operator for each ride's age, height and weight rules.[4]

Snow World Genting Highlands Ticket

Snow World is an indoor snow attraction on Level T2A of First World Plaza; its site said "we are now open" and gave daily hours of 10:00am to 10:00pm when XTOUR read it.[18] The Snow World Genting Highlands Ticket has two options, Admission (International Travellers) and Admission (Malaysian Citizens), and appears in no combo. SkyGate's notes set a child ticket for 90 to 130 cm and ask visitors to wear closed-toe shoes.[9]

Which combo covers what

Five combinations recur, each sold under more than one product with identical option IDs, so XTOUR's reading is that they are the same bookable options listed on several pages. SkyGate does not say whether the price differs by page.

• Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park and the Genting SkyWay, one way or round trip: the Combo: Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park and Genting SkyWay Tickets, also on the Genting SkyWay and Eufloria pages; its round-trip options are labelled Adult.[11]

In XTOUR's coverage, no product pairs a theme park with the Genting SkyWay or Eufloria with the Awana SkyWay. The pattern follows the stations: the Awana line ends at SkyAvenue, beside both parks, while Eufloria is joined by a covered walkway to Gohtong Sentral, the Genting SkyWay's lower station.[19][3][17]

The Skytropolis combo and the three-attraction combo include the Awana SkyWay one way only, as their option titles say.[8][7] XTOUR's reading is that the other direction needs a separate ride ticket.

Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park tickets

Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park is a floral glasshouse in the mid-hills.[19] The Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park Ticket has six options: Admission at a Malaysian or a non-Malaysian rate, and the four Genting SkyWay combos.[10] Resorts World Genting lists hours of 10am to 6pm but states the weekly closure two ways. One notice says Eufloria closes every Wednesday from 1 October 2026, while its ticket terms say every Wednesday and Thursday, both except public and school holidays.[19] SkyGate's combo page uses the Wednesday-and-Thursday wording, and its single-venue page says last admission is one hour before closing.[11][10] See the Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park page on XTOUR.

How to choose

For the ride alone, choose by your lower station: the Awana SkyWay Cable Car Ticket from Sky Sentral, or the Genting SkyWay Cable Car Ticket from Gohtong Sentral. Both offer a round trip.

For one park, use its own ticket: the One-Day Ticket on the Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Ticket, or the Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park Ticket. For both parks without a ride, choose the Combo: Genting SkyWorlds and Skytropolis Tickets. To add the Awana SkyWay, pick the combo matching your parks; only the SkyWorlds combo offers a round trip.

Snow World has only its own ticket. For the garden, choose the Eufloria Gardens & Sculpture Park Ticket, or the Eufloria combo if you are riding the Genting SkyWay.

Before you book

• Genting SkyWay is closed for maintenance from 5 to 9 October 2026 and Awana SkyWay from 12 to 16 October 2026.[14]
• SkyWorlds tickets must be booked one day in advance, according to SkyGate.[3]
• Genting SkyWorlds and Skytropolis each publish a list of rides closed for maintenance.[17][15]
• XTOUR has not seen the cancellation terms for any of these options, so check them on SkyGate before paying.
