Two Turkish museums share almost the same name

Turkey has two different districts named "Ereğli," each with its own Ministry-listed museum, and the Ministry's own portal shows the collision directly. The listing at SectionId=ZNE01 is this museum, Karadeniz Ereğli Museum, on the Black Sea coast in Zonguldak Province — the subject of this guide. A separate listing at SectionId=KOE01 is a different "Ereğli Museum," at Boyacı Ali Mahallesi, Atatürk Bulvarı No:16, in Ereğli district, Konya Province, in Central Anatolia — a different building (three stories, not four), a different city, and an unrelated collection.[2]

The museum is housed in the Halil Paşa Mansion (Konak), a four-story, late-19th-century brick building. Per the Ministry's Kültür Varlıkları ve Müzeler Genel Müdürlüğü (KVMGM) directorate page, the collection is arranged by floor and spans Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman artifacts, alongside regional ethnographic items.[3]
