Quick answer

According to SkyGate's listings read on 3 October 2026, rent a bike from Unlimited Biking for Central Park or the Brooklyn Bridge if you want to ride alone, book the New York City Central Park Guided Bike Tour for a guide, the Big Bus New York Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour for Manhattan sights by bus, or the New York Boroughs Tour for Harlem, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn by vehicle with a guide.

The short answer

Choose by how much structure you want. A bike rental lets you ride alone with a map; the guided bike tour adds a guide in Central Park; the Big Bus ticket gives you hop-on hop-off routes in Manhattan; and the New York Boroughs Tour takes you by vehicle with a guide to neighbourhoods outside Manhattan.[7][6][4][1] The two Hard Rock Cafe products are prepaid meals, not tours, and fit around any of them.[10][8]

Bike rental: Central Park or the Brooklyn Bridge

Both rental products are from Unlimited Biking and work the same way: six options, a standard bike or an eBike, each for 2 hours, 4 hours or a Day Pass, with a helmet, lock, bike bag and area map.[2] The eBike options are for riders 16 and over; the standard bike options also have child tickets.[3] SkyGate's listings say riders must know how to ride, need photo ID and a credit card for the deposit, and that the last rental is two hours before the shop closes.[1]

The difference is where you start. The New York City Bike Rental in Central Park is collected at 56 West 56th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, for riding the park's paved loops.[1] The New York City Bike Rental at Brooklyn Bridge is collected at 79 Chambers Street, according to SkyGate, for Lower Manhattan and a ride across the bridge to Brooklyn Bridge Park.[2] Unlimited Biking's own site names 79 Chambers Street in its FAQ but lists 514 Court St in Brooklyn as its Brooklyn Bridge location, so confirm the pick-up shop before you go.[3]

The guided Central Park bike tour

The New York City Central Park Guided Bike Tour starts at the same West 56th Street shop. SkyGate's itinerary rides the Literary Walk, Bethesda Fountain and Terrace, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, Shakespeare Garden and Sheep Meadow, and ends at Strawberry Fields.[4] Those are stops inside the park, which the Central Park Conservancy has cared for since 1980.[5] The two options are a standard bike tour and a Guided eBike Tour for riders 16 and over; SkyGate says tag-a-longs and trailers are not permitted on tours.[4] When XTOUR read SkyGate's calendar, only the eBike option showed bookable dates, starting in January 2027, so check your date on SkyGate before planning around it. See the Central Park page on XTOUR.

Hop-on hop-off: Big Bus

The Big Bus New York Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour has four options. The Discover Ticket (24 Hours) covers the Downtown Loop (Red Route); the Essential Ticket (48 Hours) + Night Tour adds the Uptown Loop (Blue Route) and a night tour; the Explore Ticket (72 Hours) adds both loops and one Circle Line cruise, Liberty or Landmarks, from Pier 83; and the Night Tour option is the night tour alone. All three day tickets include a multilingual audio guide and board at any designated stop.[6] SkyGate does not publish the full stop list, and XTOUR could not read Big Bus's site, so landmarks named on SkyGate's page are sights along the route, not admissions.

The outer boroughs by vehicle

The New York Boroughs Tour in Harlem, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn is the one product here that leaves Manhattan. SkyGate's itinerary passes the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, street art in the Bronx, the Malba neighbourhood and Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, and Williamsburg and Crown Heights in Brooklyn.[7] These are stops and drive-bys; no admission is included. The second option adds the Coney Island boardwalk, and only the first option's text mentions transfers to and from the meeting point at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Terminal. SkyGate's listing says children under 8 need a child restraint that you must bring, as New York State law requires.[7]

Prepaid meals: two Hard Rock Cafes

The Hard Rock Cafe New York Times Square Dining Experience is a set menu at 1501 Broadway in Times Square.[9] The Hard Rock Cafe Yankee Stadium Dining Experience is the same idea at the cafe at Gate 6 of Yankee Stadium, on 161st Street and River Avenue in the Bronx.[11] Both offer an Acoustic Rock Menu (Two-Course), with an entree, dessert and soft drink, and an Electric Rock Menu (Three-Course), which adds a starter salad and a wider entree choice.[10][8] The Yankee Stadium cafe says game tickets are required for entry on game days.[11]

How to choose

  • Ride at your own pace in Central Park: the Central Park rental.[1]
  • Cross the Brooklyn Bridge by bike: the Brooklyn Bridge rental.[2]
  • Learn the park with a guide: the guided bike tour, eBike option.[4]
  • Several Manhattan sights over one to three days: Big Bus, sized to the days you need.[6]
  • Harlem, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn in one go: the Boroughs Tour.[7]

Before you book

  • Bring photo ID and a credit card for any bike rental or tour deposit.[4][1]
  • Confirm the Brooklyn Bridge rental pick-up shop.[3]
  • Bring a child seat for the Boroughs Tour if travelling with children under 8.[7]
