Quick answer

According to SkyGate's listings read on 29 September 2026, the tattoo rule is the fastest way to narrow the four bathhouses: two operators say tattoos are not allowed, SkyGate says Arima Onsen accepts covered tattoos, and AQUAIGNIS is unclear. For food, one product is a seated kaiseki dinner and two are guided walking tours, one at night in Dotonbori and one by day around Sumiyoshi and Shinsekai.

Start with the tattoo rule, then the location

Four bathhouses are covered here, and the quickest filter is what each says about tattoos. Naniwa-no-Yu's own access page carries a notice that tattoos and fake tattoos are not allowed, and Rinkunoyu's English page says people with tattoos cannot use its service.[7][2] SkyGate's Arima Onsen listing says guests with tattoos must cover them with stickers or tape.[3] SkyGate's AQUAIGNIS listing says you may be refused entry for tattoos or tattoo-covering stickers that the operator does not permit, and XTOUR found no operator statement to settle it.[8] After that, choose by where you will be: inside Osaka, in the hills of Kobe, or beside Kansai Airport.

In Osaka city: Osaka Tennen Onsen Naniwa-no-Yu

The Osaka Tennen Onsen Naniwa-no-Yu ticket is for a bathhouse in Kita Ward, Osaka, which SkyGate and the operator both place inside the city.[2][1] XTOUR's reading is that it is the only one of the four inside Osaka city. The operator says it is about 10 minutes' walk north of Exit 5 of Tenjimbashisuji Rokuchome Station, and that Osaka City bus 34 from the JR Osaka and Umeda area stops at Nagara-nishi in front of it. Its access page gives hours of 10:00 to 25:00 on weekdays and from 8:00 on weekends and holidays, with last reception at 24:00.[2]

SkyGate describes carbonated mineral water pumped from 659 metres and a top-floor public bath with an outdoor bath, and says the bathing areas and saunas are separated by gender. There is one admission option; the price includes shower and changing facilities, the towel is excluded, and the option is non-refundable.[1] See the Tennen Onsen Naniwa-no-Yu page on XTOUR.

In Kobe: Arima Onsen Taikou-no-yu Spa

XTOUR's reading: the Arima Onsen Taikou-no-yu Spa ticket has the most option types and is the only bathhouse ticket here with a meal option. The operator calls the facility a hot spring theme park with 26 kinds of bath, including the gold spring, kinsen, in Arima Onsen, Kita Ward, Kobe.[4] SkyGate lists four options:[3]

  • Admission alone, which SkyGate says comes with a towel and in-house clothing.[3]
  • Admission plus, per SkyGate, 30 minutes in Taiko Yume Jyuraku, a selection of bedrock baths, and a five-minute fish foot experience.[3]
  • The same, plus one soft-serve ice cream.
  • Admission plus, per SkyGate, a Kobe beef sukiyaki set meal and a soft drink, with the meal ticket valid only on the same day and the menu not changeable.[3]

Only the first option allows children aged 6 to 12 in SkyGate's option data; the other three are set for ages 13 and over. SkyGate lists an onsite surcharge on 11 to 15 August 2026 and 1 to 3 January 2027, says the bedrock-bath add-on is included for 30 minutes, and gives sukiyaki dining hours of 12:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:30 to 9:30 PM.[3] The listing says nothing about how to reach Arima from Osaka. See the Arima Onsen Taiko-no-Yu page on XTOUR.

Near Kansai Airport: Rinkunoyu or AQUAIGNIS

Both airport-side ticket products are in Izumisano, which is outside Osaka city. They suit a bath before a departure or after an arrival, though neither listing says anything about luggage.

The Rock Salt Spa Rinkunoyu Experience is a bathhouse the operator describes as one station from Kansai Airport, with a carbonated bath, rock-salt bath, two saunas, five kinds of bedrock bath and about 30,000 manga and magazines. Hours on the operator's page are 9:00 to 24:00 Monday to Saturday and 7:00 from Sundays and holidays, with last entry at 23:15.[6] SkyGate's two options split on the bedrock bath: Admission, or Admission + Bedrock Bath, which adds four heated rooms and a shared relaxation area. The bedrock area is shared by men and women and requires the provided clothing, according to SkyGate; both options are non-refundable.[5]

The AQUAIGNIS Kansai International Airport Ticket is a day spa the operator describes as adjacent to the airport, with ocean-view hot spring bathing and spa hours of 7:00 to 24:00.[9] Its four options are Admission + Drink, Admission + Smoothie or Soft Serve, Admission (Weekdays) and Admission (Weekends), and all are non-refundable. SkyGate says children of 120 cm or taller, or aged 8 or over, may not use the mixed-gender bathing facilities, and that a lost key is not refunded.[8] The listing does not say which areas are mixed. See the AQUAIGNIS Kansai Airport page on XTOUR.

Food: a seated dinner or a guided walk

The Osaka-ryori Asai Multi-Course Dining Experience is a reserved kaiseki dinner at the address 1-6-19 Higashishinsaibashi. SkyGate calls the restaurant Michelin one-star, and XTOUR has not verified that. There are four options: Chef's Special Premium and Deluxe are described as seven-course meals, Chef's Recommendation Premium as six courses with one special a la carte item, and Chef's Recommendation Deluxe as a menu customised by the chef. SkyGate says special dietary requests can be accommodated depending on availability, that the dress code is smart casual with collared shirts, long trousers and socks for men, and that the 9:00 PM slot takes last orders until 10:30 PM.[10] Which options offer counter seats is not stated. Cancellation is fully refundable at least 8 days before, per the option data.[10]

The two food tours are different products, not two versions of one. The Osaka Night Food Tour runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM by SkyGate's itinerary: a walk through Dotonbori, kushikatsu skewers and a takoyaki tasting, then dinner with one drink at a local izakaya, in English. It is non-refundable and the itinerary is subject to change with weather and traffic.[11] The Osaka Walking Food Tour is a morning route from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Sumiyoshi Taisha, a tram ride, then a kushikatsu lunch in Shinsekai and a subway ride to Namba. SkyGate says nine kushikatsu sticks are served, that a vegetarian option is available on request, and that egg and dairy cannot be removed. The shrine is a stop, not an admission. It meets at the Swissotel Nankai Osaka 6F Bell Desk; the Night tour meets in front of Starbucks Tsutaya Ebisu-Bashi.[11][12]

Hands-on: weaving, cookies or a photo shoot

The Weaving Experience at SAORI Toyosaki Nagaya is a 120-minute session in Kita Ward where you choose a warp and weft yarns and weave a scarf with staff help.[13] The workshop's own site describes a hand-weaving workshop in Toyosaki, north of Umeda, where you choose yarns and weave a muffler.[14] SkyGate says a material fee is charged separately and to check the workshop's site for operating days.[13]

The Dodeca Cookie Making Experience at DODEKA Cookie Studio is in Kobe, on the 8th floor at 6-1-15 Kumoidori. SkyGate's three 90-minute options are giant cookie, plain pizza, and both; the pizza is dine-in only, and giant cookies take about 60 minutes to bake and cool, so you can wait or return. SkyGate says there is no minimum age and that young children should be accompanied; all options are non-refundable.[15]

The Professional Photo Shoot in Osaka is a service, not a venue. The options are one hour with 15 edited photos or two hours with 20, and one adult booking covers a session for up to six people. You agree the location and time with the photographer directly.[16]
