Theme parks and waterparks around Kuala Lumpur

The short answer

None of these nine venues is inside the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. All are in Selangor, in the wider Klang Valley, even where "Kuala Lumpur" is part of the name.[19][17][16][15][13][12][10] XTOUR does not publish travel times to any of them from the city.

Where each park is

• Sunway Lagoon: 3 Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, in Subang Jaya.[1][10]
• Wet World Shah Alam: Persiaran Dato Menteri, Section 14, Shah Alam.[12]
• SplashMania: Gamuda Cove, which GLPlay places in Kuala Langat; SkyGate's address gives Banting.[4][13]
• Skyline Luge and FunPark: Gamuda Luge Gardens, north of the city, which Skyline gives as Rawang and GLPlay as Sungai Buloh North.[14][15]
• KidZania: Curve NX, Jalan PJU 7/5, Petaling Jaya.[16]
• Just Farm: first floor of IOI Mall Damansara, Tropicana Indah, Petaling Jaya.[17]
• Zoo Negara: Hulu Kelang, 68000 Ampang, Selangor.[19]

Sunway Lagoon: the ticket or the Quack Xpress combo

Sunway Lagoon describes 88 acres with more than 120 attractions across seven experiences, from the Water Park and Amusement Park to the Captain Quack Land night park.[11] The Sunway Lagoon Theme Park Ticket page has six options, and they do different jobs. Two are day admission, for international travellers and for Malaysian citizens; one is night admission to Captain Quack Land; two are day admission plus the Quack Xpress Pass; and one is the Quack Xpress Pass alone, titled "Admission not included".[1] That last option does not get you into the park.

The Combo: Sunway Lagoon Day Admission and Quack Xpress Pass product sells the same pairing as two options, and SkyGate says the pass gives skip-the-line access to 21 rides and attractions. SkyGate's combo listing also says both the admission and the pass exclude pay-per-ride activities at the Extreme Park, such as the bungee jump, G-Force X and go-karts, and the scuba experience at the Water Park.[2]

SkyGate's listing says the Malaysian citizen ticket is valid only for MyKAD or MyKID holders, and that holders of iKAD cards and MyPR permanent residents need the international ticket, with a penalty or refused redemption for the wrong one. It says children under 90 cm go free and a child ticket covers those above 90 cm and under 13, counted by year of birth.[1] Both parks are closed every Tuesday except during Malaysian school and public holidays, according to Sunway Lagoon's contact page, which gives theme park hours of 10:00am to 11:00pm and night park hours of 6:00pm to 11:00pm.[10] SkyGate's listing instead gives 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the day park, and still carries notices dated 2025, so check the operator's hours for your date.[1]

Two waterparks: Wet World Shah Alam and SplashMania

The Wet World Shah Alam Waterpark Ticket is a single Day Pass. SkyGate names the Monsoon Buster, Super Hurricane, Thunder River and Caribbean River among its rides, and says children under 90 cm are free.[3] The operator's page gives 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, open daily but closed every Wednesday, with Wednesdays open in school and public holidays. For the fasting month the two disagree: the operator says weekends only from 10.00 am, and SkyGate says Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 6 PM.[3][12]

The SplashMania Waterpark Ticket is also a single day admission.[4] GLPlay lists 24 water slides and 15 key attractions, opening 10am to 6pm and closed every Wednesday except Malaysian public and school holidays, and says transactions are cashless and non-refundable.[13] SkyGate's listing says children under 3 are free with a paying adult, children under 12 must be with an adult of at least 18, and some attractions use flashing and strobe lights.[4] SkyGate's highlights mention surfing on Surf Mania as something you can opt for, but its one option title does not say whether surfing is included.

Gamuda Luge Gardens: two operators, two tickets

The luge and FunPark share Gamuda Luge Gardens but are separate businesses. Skyline Luge's site is run by Skyline Enterprises Limited, while FunPark is run by Gamuda Land Leisure under its GLPlay brand.[14][15] XTOUR found no product that combines them.

The Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur Ticket has two options: Luge and Skyride, three rides each or four rides each.[5] Skyline describes 1,600 m of track with over 30 turns and 160 m of tunnels, and says every luge ride starts with a ride up on its four-seater chairlift, the Skyride.[15] SkyGate's listing sets height rules: no one under 2 years or below 85 cm, at least 110 cm to ride the luge alone, and at least 135 cm for the Skyride alone. For tandem riding the sources differ: SkyGate says children between 85 and 110 cm can ride with a paying adult, on a ticket bought on site, while Skyline's own tandem ticket covers children of 85 to 120 cm.[15] SkyGate says the ride is not suitable for pregnant women, wheelchair users or people with heart, neck or back problems.[5] SkyGate's highlights mention a zipline, but neither option title includes it, and Skyline listed its Hyfly zipline as closed for maintenance today.[15]

The FunPark Ticket at Gamuda Luge Gardens is one option, a 1-Day Unlimited FunPass.[6] GLPlay describes an outdoor park that otherwise works on a pay-per-ride basis, with the 50-metre Eye of Gardens Ferris wheel, the Vroomerang coaster and the Big Bucket Splash water-play area.[14] SkyGate's page does not say whether the FunPass covers Big Bucket Splash. SkyGate gives hours of 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays and 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at weekends and on holidays, and GLPlay adds that both its parks are closed every Wednesday.[14] SkyGate says children below 120 cm must be with a paying companion aged 16 or over.[6]

Indoor visits: KidZania and Just Farm

The KidZania Kuala Lumpur Ticket has two options: a standard admission and a toddler admission for ages 3 to 5.[7] KidZania describes a child-sized city with over 60 role-play activities for children aged 4 to 17, open daily from 10am to 6pm.[16] SkyGate's listing says adults may enter only with a child, children under 8 must be with a paying adult, and children aged 8 to 17 may go in alone but need an adult at entry and exit.[7]

The Just Farm Indoor Petting Zoo Ticket has three options, Just Farm, Just Cats and Just Dogs, each titled with a free drink for adults.[8] Just Farm's own site describes an indoor farm and a separately ticketed cat lounge, Just Cats, but the pages XTOUR read do not describe Just Dogs.[17] SkyGate's listing says children below 85 cm or under 3 are free and gives last admission as 8:30 PM.[8] Just Farm's site does not publish opening hours on the pages XTOUR read.

Zoo Negara Malaysia and Panda Conservation Centre Ticket

This ticket includes admission and an animal show, according to SkyGate. Its four options are admission for non-Malaysian citizens, admission for Malaysian citizens, and two family bundles, for two adults with one or two children, both for Malaysian citizens only. The listing says your booking must be redeemed at least one day after the booking date, so it will not work for a same-day visit.[9] The zoo gives daily hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, asks visitors to bring their original passport or ID card to the ticket counter, and prices tram rides separately.[18] For public transport, the zoo suggests the LRT Kelana Jaya Line to Wangsa Maju, then a Rapid KL bus or an e-hailing ride.[20] The zoo's own pages give two different animal counts, so XTOUR does not repeat either figure.

How to choose

• A full day across several parks: Sunway Lagoon, with the combo if you want the Quack Xpress queue pass.[2]
• A waterpark only: Wet World Shah Alam or SplashMania, both sold as one day admission.[4][3]
• Gravity carts: the Skyline Luge ticket, choosing three or four rides.[5]
• Fairground rides and a Ferris wheel in the afternoon or evening: the FunPark FunPass.[6]
• Indoors with children: KidZania for role play, Just Farm for animals.[8][7]
• Animals outdoors: Zoo Negara, booked at least a day ahead.[9]

Before you book

• Buy the ticket that matches your citizenship; Sunway Lagoon rejects or surcharges the wrong one.[1]
• Check each operator's Wednesday or Tuesday closures before picking a date.[14][13][12][10]
• Measure young children; height sets price or eligibility at Sunway Lagoon, Wet World and the Skyline Luge.[5][3][1]
• Carry a card or phone for payments at the Skyline Luge and SplashMania, which say they are cashless.[13][15]
• Bring the original passport or ID card to Zoo Negara's ticket counter.[18]
