Tokyo aquariums and indoor attractions: 12 tickets sorted

Twelve SkyGate tickets for wet-weather Tokyo, from five aquariums to Odaiba play venues, miniatures, teamLab Planets and the Harry Potter studio tour. The guide sorts them by what you are trying to do and flags the operator notices that change what you will actually see this autumn.

Quick answer

According to SkyGate's listings read on 29 September 2026, each of the twelve tickets admits you to a single indoor venue, or in the Skytree and teamLab combo to two on the same date. Pick a group first: aquariums (Sumida, Sunshine, Shinagawa, Maxell Aqua Park, and Enoshima outside Tokyo), Odaiba and Ariake play venues, or art and film (teamLab Planets, the Harry Potter tour).

The short answer

Decide what kind of day you want before you pick a venue, because the twelve tickets fall into three groups: aquariums, Odaiba and Ariake play venues, and art or film. XTOUR's reading: two aquariums share the Shinagawa name, one aquarium is outside Tokyo, and the choice within each group is small once you know that.

Five aquariums, five different situations

Sumida Aquarium Ticket. The operator places the aquarium on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi, and describes zones including Ogasawara sea life and a goldfish exhibit called the Edo-rium.[2] SkyGate sells standard and student tickets valid at any time on the chosen date, and "Peak" versions valid only in a selected time slot. When XTOUR checked, the standard Peak option had no open dates in SkyGate's calendar, while the other three did. SkyGate says re-entry is not permitted. The ticket admits you to the aquarium, not the Skytree decks; see the Tokyo observation decks guide for those.[1]

Sunshine Aquarium Ticket. It sits on the rooftop of the World Import Mart building in Ikebukuro, according to SkyGate's meeting address. SkyGate's description leads with the Aqua Ring tank, but the operator's notice says the Aqua Ring exhibit is paused from 24 September to 4 November 2026 for maintenance.[4][3] If the ring is your reason for going, visit after 4 November. The options are standard admission and one for children aged 4 to 5.[3]

Shinagawa Aquarium Ticket. This is the Katsushima venue in Shinagawa-ku, and the operator's site gives Omorikaigan Station on the Keikyu line as an 8-minute walk. SkyGate lists a 22-metre tunnel tank, Seal Hall, Penguin Land and scheduled dolphin, sea lion and seal shows, and the operator confirms a tunnel tank and those shows. The operator gives 10:00 to 17:00 with entry to 16:30, and SkyGate says to check the show schedule on the operator's site.[5][6]

Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa Ticket. This is a different venue, in Takanawa, Minato-ku, and SkyGate's voucher text places the redemption counter inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. SkyGate describes a dolphin show viewed from 360 degrees, and the operator's page lists an autumn programme, MOMIJI AQUARIUM by NAKED, from 12 September to 8 November.[8] Tickets are exchanged at a counter rather than scanned at the door. When XTOUR checked, SkyGate's calendar showed one open date, so confirm your date first.[7]

Enoshima Aquarium Ticket. The operator puts it in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, next to Enoshima, so it is a trip out of Tokyo, not a Tokyo attraction.[10] SkyGate highlights a jellyfish hall and lists three options: general, junior high and high school with student ID, and infants aged 3 to 5, which SkyGate says does not allow direct admission and asks you to queue and follow staff.[9] SkyGate does not state a journey time, and XTOUR has not verified one.

Odaiba and Ariake: four indoor venues

Three of these are in Decks Tokyo Beach in Odaiba, and the fourth is a short distance away in Ariake.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Tokyo Ticket is for families with children: SkyGate warns that adults may visit only when accompanied by a child, with no refund if refused.[11] The operator's Japanese page, which does not repeat that rule, lists two partial closures: the LEGO Ninjago City Adventure on 6 to 9 October and the 4D cinema from 30 November to 4 December 2026.[12]

Tokyo Joypolis Indoor Amusement Park is the option for older children, teenagers and adults. SkyGate sells one option, the One Day Passport, with unlimited rides and VR games, redeemed with your voucher and photo ID at the ticketing counter on DECKS Tokyo Beach 3F. SkyGate adds that children under 7 are free but charges may apply for certain attractions and games.[13]

Tokyo Trick Art Museum Ticket is the shorter, photo-led stop: SkyGate lists a single Admission option, says re-entry is not permitted, and notes last admission is one hour before closing.[15] The operator's Japanese site places it on the 4th floor of the Seaside Mall, and shows different opening times on different pages (11:00 to 20:00 as that day's hours, 11:00 to 21:00 in its access section), so check its calendar.[16]

Small Worlds Tokyo Ticket is the miniatures museum in Ariake, not Odaiba: the operator describes about 7,000 square metres with 1/80-scale miniatures and gives 09:00 to 19:00 with last admission at 18:00; SkyGate's description says 8,000 square metres and "world's largest", and shows 11:00 to 19:00 hours, so treat both size and hours as unsettled and go by the operator.[18] According to SkyGate, you show an e-voucher on your phone and that you may need a passport or ID.[17]

Art and film: teamLab Planets, the combo and the Harry Potter tour

teamLab Planets TOKYO Ticket has 11 options: a Premium skip-the-line option, and adult and youth versions for five timed slots from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. SkyGate says the Premium option goes to the information desk with no queue at the main entrance, and, according to SkyGate, the ticket is valid only at teamLab Planets in Toyosu, not teamLab Borderless.[19] The operator says you experience the water artworks barefoot, that water can reach knee height, that shorts and shoes can be rented free, and that children under 13 need a parent or guardian over 18 with one adult for every three children.[20]

COMBO: Tokyo Skytree + teamLab Planets TOKYO Tickets bundles the Skytree Tembo Deck and Tembo Galleria with teamLab Planets admission on the same date, in adult and youth options. The two venues are separate sites, and SkyGate does not establish the time slot or entry order.[21] XTOUR's reading: book it if you want both on one day; book the plain teamLab ticket if you want a choice of time slot.

Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo (Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo) sits at the former Toshimaen site in Nerima, per the operator.[23] SkyGate sells eight options: plain admission, admission with a digital guide and souvenir guidebook, admission with Afternoon Tea, and admission with Evening High Tea at the Backlot Cafe, each with a youth version for ages 12 to 17.[22] The operator lists a limited-time Halloween afternoon tea and high tea until 8 November 2026.[23] When XTOUR checked, the tea options had fewer open dates than plain admission, and the earliest was 3 October.[22]

Before you book

  • SkyGate says re-entry is not permitted at Sumida Aquarium and Tokyo Trick Art Museum, and the operator says the same for teamLab Planets.[20][15][1]
  • The Sunshine Aquarium Aqua Ring is paused until 4 November 2026.[4]
  • Shinagawa Aquarium and Maxell Aqua Park are different venues in different wards.[7][6]
