Quick answer
According to SkyGate's and the operators' own listings, read 29 September 2026, these eleven Tokyo products answer six separate questions: which hands-on craft or drumming workshop to book, where to rent a kimono, whether to add Tokyo Dome City's hot-spring spa, whether to buy Shinjuku Gyoen admission ahead, whether a hop-on hop-off bus pass suits your day, and whether to book a private photographer.
The short answer
Eleven separate Tokyo products sit behind this guide, and they answer six different questions: which hands-on craft or drumming workshop to book, where to rent a kimono, whether to add Tokyo Dome City's hot-spring spa, whether to buy Shinjuku Gyoen's garden ticket ahead, whether a hop-on hop-off bus pass suits your day, and whether to book a private photographer. None of the eleven compete with each other, so treat each section below as its own decision.
Hands-on craft and cultural workshops: jeans, glass, silver and taiko drumming
Five products sit here, each at its own studio, so venue matters as much as craft.[12][13][16][7][1]
The Jeans Making Experience at Betty Smith Ebisu Workshop has a single option, where you choose a DENIM WORKS style and attach the buttons, rivets and a leather patch or emblem yourself. SkyGate's listing says extra charges may apply on the day depending on the size and style you pick, without stating an amount.[1] The operator's own page, read 2026-09-29, places the workshop on the fifth floor of a building with an animal hospital on the ground floor, about ten minutes on foot from the west exit of Ebisu Station, and gives hours of 10:00 to 19:00 with last admission at 18:00 and no regular closing days as of December 2024; check before you travel.[2]
The Edo Kiriko Glass Carving Experience is a beginner-friendly glass-cutting class held at Glass Factory Sokichi near Asakusa Station, with a single option and no class duration stated by SkyGate.[7] The operator's own access page, read 2026-09-29, confirms the address as 2-1-14 Kaminarimon, Taito City, puts the studio about 30 seconds on foot from exit 4 of the Ginza Line's Asakusa Station, and lists a 90-minute and a 2-hour course that SkyGate's listing does not state.[8] SkyGate's calendar showed only five open days in its booking window when checked, the most date-constrained of the five workshops here.[7]
The Glass Carving Experience at Tokyo Small Museum of Books About Glass is a separate glass-engraving session at a different studio in Sumida, not Asakusa.[16] The operator's own site, read 2026-09-29, places the museum between Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa, gives hours of 10:00 to 19:00 Wednesday to Sunday and 11:00 to 18:00 on holidays and Monday-Tuesday, with a regular Monday closure and occasional extra closures, and describes the activity as engraving a message or your own illustration onto handcrafted glass.[17] SkyGate separately warns of an extension fee and lateness terms, with no amount stated.[16]
The Silver Ring-Making Experience at Taisho Romance Workshop Grace takes place at a workshop SkyGate's page places at 2-2-2 Asakusa, Taito-ku.[13] XTOUR's reading: this address could not be independently confirmed; OpenStreetMap carries only a similarly named "Taisho Roman Kan" venue, not confirmed as the same business. SkyGate's single option is a silver 925 ring; its page says the final price depends on the material and width chosen on the day.[13]
The Japanese Drum Taiko Experience at Tokyo HANADA is the least location-certain of the five: SkyGate names only "JR Okubo Station South Exit" as the address, not a studio name or street address.[12] XTOUR's reading: no independent source names a "HANADA" studio, and other taiko operators near Okubo Station use different names and addresses not tied to this listing, so treat it as a session in Shinjuku rather than a pinned venue.
Kimono and yukata rental: Harajuku or Asakusa
The Tokyo Kimono Rental SHIBUI Harajuku Store sells a single option with dressing assistance.[11] SkyGate's page gives an address in Harajuku (1-10-34 Jingumae, Room 413, Harajuku-Copo-Bekkan) that XTOUR could not independently corroborate. It says kimono sizing fits bust, waist and hip measurements up to 130 cm, with rental not recommended during pregnancy. Rental duration and return time are not stated by SkyGate.[11]
The Kimono Rental in Tokyo, Asakusa listing adds basic hairstyling and sells by group size: one person, or two to four people together. SkyGate's own listing gives three different addresses for this rental — on the product page, the meeting address, and the voucher redemption address — so which one applies to a booking is unsettled.[15]
Pick Harajuku for a solo rental without hairstyling, or Asakusa for hairstyling or a group booking, and confirm the meeting address first given SkyGate's conflicting addresses.[15]
Tokyo Dome City: the Natural Hot Spring Spa LaQua
The Tokyo Dome Natural Hot Spring Spa LaQua Ticket sells two options: general admission, or admission plus the Healing Bade stone-sauna area. Towels and in-house wear are included on both, per SkyGate's option text.[3] The operator's own spa page, read 2026-09-29, describes natural hot-spring baths, the Healing Baden area, salons and relaxation spaces, and gave that day's hours as 11:00 to 9:00 the next morning; check before you go. Neither SkyGate's listing nor the operator's page states tattoo, age or gender-area rules, so those stay unknown rather than assumed.[3][4]
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden: buy ahead, or not
The Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Ticket sells two options, general admission and youth admission for ages 16 to 18, both direct admission with no meeting point and both non-refundable per SkyGate.[9] The garden is run by Japan's Ministry of the Environment, whose own site gives the address as 11 Naito-machō, Shinjuku.[10] Opening hours and closing days change through the year; SkyGate's page says to check the official site, so none are stated here.[9] XTOUR's reading: buying ahead mainly saves a queue at the gate and does not add anything the gate ticket itself does not cover.
Sky Hop Bus: whether a hop-on hop-off day suits you
The Tokyo Sky Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Bus sells a 1 Day Pass and a 2 Days Pass. SkyGate says both redeem at the Skybus ticket counter on the first floor of the Marunouchi Mitsubishi Building, or you can board directly at any stop on the Red, Blue or Green line.[5] The operator's own English site, read 2026-09-29, names those three routes: Red covers Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree by way of the Marunouchi Mitsubishi Building, Kodenmacho Station, the Ryogoku Edo-Tokyo Museum, Ueno and Akihabara. Blue covers Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji and Ginza, and Green covers Shinjuku and Shibuya, passing Shinjuku Gyoen-mae Station and Shibuya City Hall. The operator also says the bus carries tour commentary in seven languages through complimentary headphones or your own wired earbuds. Neither page gives a stop-by-stop timetable or pass-validity rules, so plan loosely rather than around a fixed schedule.[5][6]
A hop-on hop-off pass suits covering ground past named sights without one guided itinerary; the routes name sights as stops, not admissions, so entry to any of them is a separate purchase.[6][5]
A private photographer in Tokyo
The Professional Photo Shoot in Tokyo sells by length: a One Hour option with 15 edited photos, and a Two Hours option with 20, per SkyGate's descriptions. SkyGate's listing says the location is agreed between you and the photographer after booking, so there is no fixed venue to publish here.[14]
How to choose
- A craft you take home: jeans-making in Ebisu, Edo Kiriko glass carving in Asakusa, glass engraving in Sumida, or silver ring-making in Asakusa.
- A performance skill instead: taiko drumming in Shinjuku, studio address unconfirmed.[12]
- Dressing up for photos: either kimono rental, picking Asakusa for hairstyling or a group booking, Harajuku for a solo rental.
- A relaxing stop inside Tokyo Dome City: the Spa LaQua ticket, with or without the stone sauna.
- A quiet, scheduled walk: Shinjuku Gyoen's ticket bought ahead.
- Getting between sights without driving yourself: the Sky Hop Bus pass.
- A portrait record of the trip: the private photo shoot, booked for one or two hours.
See the Betty Smith Ebisu Workshop, Tokyo Dome Spa LaQua and Shinjuku Gyoen pages on XTOUR for more.
Before you book
- SkyGate's own addresses disagree for the Asakusa kimono rental; confirm the meeting point with the operator before you go.[15]
- The Edo Kiriko glass-carving class had only five open dates in SkyGate's booking window when checked; book early if the date matters.[7]
- The taiko drumming session's studio address is not published; SkyGate names only a station exit.[12]
- Jeans-making and the Small Museum of Books About Glass session may carry extra on-the-day charges that neither listing quantifies.[16][1]
- Tokyo Dome Spa LaQua's and Shinjuku Gyoen's opening hours both change with the season or the day; check the operator's page before you go.[9][4]

Frequently asked questions
Good to know
Which glass-carving workshop should I book, the one in Asakusa or the one in Sumida?
They are different studios. The Edo Kiriko Glass Carving Experience is held at Glass Factory Sokichi near Asakusa Station, per SkyGate and the operator's own access page. The Glass Carving Experience at Tokyo Small Museum of Books About Glass is a separate studio in Sumida that the operator's own site places between Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa.
Does either kimono rental include hairstyling?
According to SkyGate's listings, only the Kimono Rental in Tokyo, Asakusa option includes basic hairstyling and is sold by group size. The SHIBUI Harajuku rental is dressing assistance only, per its listing.
Is there a fixed address for the taiko drumming session?
No. SkyGate names only "JR Okubo Station South Exit" as the address, not a studio name or street address, and XTOUR found no independent source naming a "HANADA" studio.
Does the Sky Hop Bus ticket let me enter Tokyo Tower or Shinjuku Gyoen?
No. According to Sky Hop Bus's own site, the route names Tokyo Tower and, on the Green route, a stop near Shinjuku Gyoen-mae Station, but according to SkyGate's listing, the pass sells transport only; entry to any named sight is a separate ticket.
