Universal Studios Japan tickets: which of three to book

Three SkyGate listings sell Universal Studios Japan, and they overlap more than their titles suggest. This guide shows exactly which options sit in which listing, so you can pick the one that matches what you need.

Quick answer

According to SkyGate's option lists read on 29 September 2026, Universal Studios Japan Ticket is the only one of the three that sells a plain Studio Pass, a 1.5-day or 2-day pass, a Twilight Pass and a Super Nintendo World VIP group tour. The other two listings each show the same three bundle options: 1-Day Studio Pass, timed Super Nintendo World entry and a Have Fun in Kansai pass, differing only in entry time.

The short answer

Choose by option, not by product title. Three SkyGate listings sell Universal Studios Japan, but only one of them offers anything beyond a single bundle: the Universal Studios Japan Ticket has eight options, and the last three of those are the same three options that make up the other two listings.[3][2][1] So the real decision is between a park pass on its own and a bundle that adds a timed Super Nintendo World entry and a Have Fun in Kansai pass.

Wikidata records Universal Studios Japan as a theme park in Osaka and Super Nintendo World as a theme park area inside it.[5][4] That matters for reading the tickets: Super Nintendo World is an area of the park, not a separate destination, and see the Universal Studios Japan page on XTOUR for the park itself.

Universal Studios Japan Ticket: the full menu

According to SkyGate, the Universal Studios Japan Ticket lists eight options, including passes without the bundle extras:[1]

  • 1-Day Studio Pass
  • 1.5-Day Studio Pass
  • 2-Day Studio Pass
  • Twilight Pass (Entry from 3:00 PM)
  • VIP Experience Group Tour: SUPER NINTENDO WORLD (Studio Pass not included)
  • three bundle options: 1-Day Studio Pass + SUPER NINTENDO WORLD (12:00 PM, 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM Entry) + Have Fun in Kansai (Select 3)

The listing's price line says Admission.[1] Read the option titles closely. The multi-day and Twilight options name their pass and nothing else, so XTOUR does not read any Super Nintendo World access into them. The VIP option says in its own title that the Studio Pass is not included, so it is not a way into the park by itself. SkyGate's page does not say what the VIP tour contains beyond its title, or whether it needs a Studio Pass bought separately, and XTOUR has not verified either.[1]

SkyGate's description for this listing calls out the Mario-themed area, Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Minions.[1] It does not give park hours in its text.

Universal Studios Japan SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Ticket: a bundle, despite the title

XTOUR's reading is that the Universal Studios Japan SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Ticket title suggests an area ticket, but every one of its three options is titled 1-Day Studio Pass + SUPER NINTENDO WORLD (12:00 PM, 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM Entry) + Have Fun in Kansai (Select 3).[2] It is not a Super Nintendo World-only ticket.

This listing carries the fullest notes of the three. SkyGate says Super Nintendo World area entry tickets no longer need redeeming at the Annual Pass Center near the front gate, and that guests enter by scanning the QR code on the ticket. It also says the ticket allows one-time access to Super Nintendo World and that re-entry is not permitted. Its Have Fun in Kansai notes say the pass starts its seven-day validity when the code is first scanned at an attraction or facility, that the start date applies to every ticket in one booking, and that the pass is not available to Japanese citizens. The page points to the Have Fun in Kansai website for the list of redemption points, attractions, hours and holidays.[2] XTOUR has not read that site, so which attractions the "Select 3" covers is unknown here.

The Have Fun in Kansai Combo: the same three options again

The Universal Studios Japan + Super Nintendo World + Have Fun in Kansai Combo lists the same three options, with the same titles, as the Super Nintendo World listing.[2] Its description says the timed entry is to Super Nintendo World and that the Have Fun in Kansai pass gives access to landmarks, culture and dining within a week. The listing's own text does not carry the re-entry, redemption or Japanese-citizen notes that appear on the Super Nintendo World listing.[3] XTOUR's reading is that the two are the same bundle framed differently, since the option titles match. If a rule matters to you, such as one-time access or the citizen restriction, assume the stricter note applies and confirm before paying.

The Have Fun in Kansai pass is an entitlement, not an itinerary. Nothing in these listings says which Kansai places you will visit.

What differs, and what does not

| | Universal Studios Japan Ticket | SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Ticket | Have Fun in Kansai Combo | |---|---|---|---| | Plain 1-day, 1.5-day, 2-day passes | Yes | No | No | | Twilight Pass (from 3:00 PM) | Yes | No | No | | VIP Super Nintendo World group tour | Yes (Studio Pass not included) | No | No | | 1-Day Studio Pass + Super Nintendo World entry + Have Fun in Kansai | Yes, three entry times | Yes, three entry times | Yes, three entry times |

How to choose

  • If you want the park and nothing else, or a 1.5-day, 2-day or Twilight pass, open the Universal Studios Japan Ticket.
  • If you want timed Super Nintendo World entry with a Have Fun in Kansai pass, any of the three listings offers the same three options. Pick the entry time (12:00 PM, 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM) and read the notes on the Super Nintendo World Ticket listing, which are the most complete.
  • If you want the Kansai pass as part of the bundle, the Have Fun in Kansai Combo is the listing named for it, though the Super Nintendo World Ticket sells the same options.
  • If you want the VIP group tour, it sits only in the Universal Studios Japan Ticket, and its title says the Studio Pass is not included.

Before you book

  • The three bundle options differ only in the Super Nintendo World entry time, according to SkyGate's option titles.[2]
  • Super Nintendo World access is one time only, with no re-entry, per SkyGate's Super Nintendo World Ticket listing.[2]
  • The Have Fun in Kansai pass starts on first scan and is not sold to Japanese citizens, per SkyGate.[2]
  • Park hours are not given in the listing text; check them with the operator before you travel.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Is the Universal Studios Japan SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Ticket just a Super Nintendo World entry?

No. According to SkyGate's option list, all three of its options begin with a 1-Day Studio Pass and end with a Have Fun in Kansai pass (Select 3); the Super Nintendo World entry time (12:00 PM, 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM) is the only thing that differs.

Is the Have Fun in Kansai combo different from the Super Nintendo World ticket?

SkyGate lists three options with identical titles in both, and the two listings share the same three option identifiers. The listings differ in their descriptions, not in the options offered; XTOUR has not found a difference in what the options include.

Can I re-enter Super Nintendo World?

SkyGate's Super Nintendo World Ticket listing says the ticket allows one-time access to Super Nintendo World and that re-entry is not permitted. The other two listings do not repeat that note, so check it against the option you choose.

Can Japanese citizens use the Have Fun in Kansai pass?

SkyGate's Super Nintendo World Ticket listing says the pass is not available for purchase or use by Japanese citizens. That is SkyGate's rule as stated on that page; XTOUR has not confirmed it with the pass operator.
