Why go
Canterbury Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral in the Diocese of Canterbury, with its offices at Cathedral House in the Precincts. The cathedral's plan-your-visit page says an admission ticket covers entry to the cathedral, Precincts and gardens, that tickets can be booked online or bought on the day at the Visitor Centre, and that it is always free to attend a service of worship or to come into one of the chapels to pray. The same page says areas of the cathedral are occasionally closed to visiting for services, special events or conservation work, and asks visitors to check closures before coming. English Heritage's St Augustine's Abbey page says a Canterbury World Heritage Pass covers the cathedral, the abbey and St Martin's Church. This record is the cathedral, not its library, the Corona or the World Heritage property.
