St Martin's Church, Canterbury
St Martin's Church is a Church of England parish church on North Holmes Road, Canterbury, part of the Canterbury World Heritage Site with Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine's Abbey.
Why go
St Martin's belongs to the Parish of St Martin and St Paul in the Diocese of Canterbury, which describes the church as a community of prayer and welcome since before AD 597. The parish's visiting page says the church opens at set times for general visiting, that it is occasionally closed for private events so visitors may wish to contact the parish first, that tour and larger groups must book in advance, and that guided church tours are booked through the parish's Eventbrite page. It also says that during the Sunday morning service visitors can only look round the churchyard unless they join the service. English Heritage and the parish both describe a joint ticket covering St Martin's, the cathedral and St Augustine's Abbey. This record is the church, not its lychgate or the World Heritage property.
