Citadel of the Hồ Dynasty
Thành Nhà Hồ
The Citadel of the Hồ Dynasty (Thành Nhà Hồ) is the stone inner citadel built in 1397 in Tây Đô commune, Thanh Hóa province, a component of the World Heritage property inscribed by UNESCO in 2011.
Why go
The Citadel of the Hồ Dynasty is the inner citadel of large limestone blocks built in 1397 between the Mã and Bưởi rivers in Thanh Hóa province, according to UNESCO's 2011 inscription decision, which describes it as the capital of Vietnam from 1398 to 1407. UNESCO inscribed the property in 2011 under criteria (ii) and (iv); the property also includes part of the La Thành outer wall and the Nam Giao altar, which are not this record. The decision names the Conservation Center of the Ho Citadel as the property's direct manager. The centre's own website refused the connection in this session, so no entry or ticketing rules are given here.
