A spring-fed mountain lake at 2,058 metres in forest six kilometres from Goderdzi Pass in Khulo municipality, up to 19.4 metres deep and coloured green by the woods around it.

Why go
The colour is a reflection effect: dense forest crowds the shore, and clear spring water mirrors it as deep green. Springs keep the lake clear and very cold, and it reaches 19.4 metres at its deepest. It lies about six kilometres from Goderdzi Pass, on the road linking Adjara with Samtskhe-Javakheti, and GNTA recommends spring, summer or the first half of autumn — the rest of the year the area is deep in snow. In season there is camping and boats and water bikes for hire. The Goderdzi Petrified Forest nearby gives a second reason to break the drive.
