Why go
The Museum of Fine Arts of Seville is an art museum in the former Convento de la Merced Calzada on the Plaza del Museo, according to Seville's city tourism site, which says it was constituted in September 1835 and officially inaugurated in 1841. The same site describes a collection from the 13th to the 20th century centred on Sevillian Baroque painting, with works by Murillo, Zurbarán and Valdés Leal, as well as nineteenth-century Andalusian painting, shown in 14 rooms arranged chronologically. It says the convent building, remodelled between 1603 and 1612, keeps cloister patios, a monumental main staircase and the convent church, now used as an exhibition room. Opening days and entry rules are set by the museum and are not given here; check its own page before you go. Wikidata keeps the museum apart from the convent building; this record is the museum.
