Why go

The Museo Poldi Pezzoli is a house museum in the former home of the Milanese collector Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli (1822-1879), at Via Manzoni 12 in central Milan. The museum's site says it opened in 1881 and that he gathered paintings as well as sculpture, carpets, lace, arms and armour, jewellery, clocks, porcelain and glass. The museum's site is published by the Fondazione Museo Poldi Pezzoli ETS. The museum's practical-information page says groups must book by telephoning the museum a few days ahead, and that the Case Museo Card gives one entry to each of the four museums of the Case Museo di Milano circuit: the Poldi Pezzoli, the Bagatti Valsecchi, Casa Boschi di Stefano and Villa Necchi Campiglio. Opening days and hours are set by the museum, so check its site before you go.
