Why go
The Museum of Pilgrimages and Santiago (Museo das Peregrinacións e de Santiago) is a museum in Santiago de Compostela devoted to the city and to the pilgrimage that shaped it. Its history page says it was created at the end of 1951 by the central and local administrations, that its management passed to the Xunta de Galicia in 1995, and that it opened to the public permanently in February 1996. The same page says a new seat opened in November 2015 on Praza das Praterías, in the building used until 2004 by the Banco de España, near the cathedral's Praterías entrance. The museum's information page gives Praza das Praterías 2 as its exhibition seat and the Casa Gótica on Rúa de San Miguel as its administrative seat; this record's pin is the Praterías exhibition building.
