Why go

Oniishi Bozu Jigoku, or Demon Stone Monk Hell, is a mud hot spring in the Kannawa district of Beppu, Oita. The Beppu Jigoku Meguri site describes bubbling grey mud and says it is a nationally designated scenic site for its diverse colours and forms. It is one of seven jigoku, or hells, operated by the Beppu Jigoku Kumiai, the Beppu Hell Association, and Umi Jigoku is a separate stop. The association's site refers to common tickets across the hells.
