Palazzo Ducale, Genoa
Palazzo Ducale di Genova
Palazzo Ducale is the former seat of the doges of Genoa in the city's historic centre, now a cultural centre that hosts exhibitions and events.
Why go
Palazzo Ducale is the palace in Genoa's historic centre that, its history page says, became the seat of the doge in 1339 with the first doge, Simon Boccanegra, and has been a cultural centre since 1992. It is the seat of the Fondazione Palazzo Ducale per la Cultura, whose founding members are the City of Genoa and the Liguria Region, and which organises art exhibitions, festivals, talks and events there. The palace's visit page says exhibitions and events keep their own hours and that their tickets are bought through each exhibition's or event's own page. This is Genoa's Palazzo Ducale, not the Doge's Palace in Venice.
