The Rochers de Naye is a mountain above Montreux in the canton of Vaud, with its summit in the municipality of Veytaux, reached by the MOB cogwheel railway from Montreux.
Why go
This record is the summit, not the Montreux to Rochers-de-Naye railway, its upper station or the protected grassland of the same name, which are separate subjects. The railway's operator, the Compagnie du chemin de fer Montreux Oberland bernois (MOB, GoldenPass), describes the line as a cogwheel railway climbing to more than 2,000 metres with a view over Lake Geneva, and names the L'Alpin restaurant at the top and skiing in winter. MOB's line page says that on some winter days trains run only as far as Haut-de-Caux, and asks travellers to check their itinerary before leaving. The summit is outside the municipality of Montreux: by the OpenStreetMap boundaries it lies in Veytaux.
