Why go
Thun Castle is the medieval keep with four corner towers on the Schlossberg in Thun, run as a museum by the non-profit Schloss Thun Foundation. The foundation's site says the permanent exhibition, presented since 2018, runs over the keep's seven levels from the cellar to the towers and covers 800 years of Thun's history, including the Knights' Hall from around 1200; it says the corner towers look out over Thun, the lake and the Alps. Its visitor FAQ (in German, translated here) says the interior is the town's historical museum rather than a furnished castle interior, and that tickets are sold online through the castle's shop or at the castle ticket desk. Thun is a separate town; XTOUR treats the castle as a trip from Bern, not a place in Bern.
