Thessaloniki's Roman and Byzantine monuments are not one site: some are ticketed state monuments, some are museums, one is an arch on a city street, and two of the great churches are working Orthodox churches with their own websites. This guide sorts them by kind of visit, explains what the 1988 UNESCO listing covers, records where official pages disagree, and says what XTOUR does not know.
