Weather & seasons

When to visit Kvareli

Kvareli has a continental eastern Georgian climate influenced by its position beneath the Greater Caucasus. Summers are hot, winters are cold, spring is green and changeable, and autumn is closely tied to harvest. Mountain storms can develop even when the Alazani plain appears sunny.

Best time

April to June and September to October are the strongest periods. Spring brings green vineyards and comfortable temperatures, while September and early October coincide with grape harvest activity across Kakheti. July and August are hot but work well for lake stays and winery visits. Winter is quiet and atmospheric, with fewer vineyard activities but excellent cellar, museum and food experiences.
