Ushguli is explored mainly on foot. The villages are connected by rough local tracks, while longer movement is by 4x4, horse or hiking. Most visitors arrive from Mestia on the Upper Svaneti road. The alternative route toward Lentekhi crosses high terrain and is strongly seasonal and should never be treated as a guaranteed year-round connection.
