Paris city passes compared: Museum Pass and Go City

Quick answer

Choose by how the pass is counted. According to SkyGate's listings read on 3 October 2026, the Paris Museum Pass runs for 48 or 96 hours from first use, The Paris Pass Plus for 2, 4 or 6 consecutive days and adds the Museum Pass, and the Go City Paris Explorer Pass gives 3, 4 or 5 choices within 30 days of first use. According to SkyGate, the Paris Self-Guided Audio Tour is commentary on your own phone and does not include admission.

The short answer

A pass is an entitlement, not an itinerary: it lets you use whatever its issuer includes on the day, and it does not book anything for you. XTOUR's reading is that these four passes differ mainly in how they are counted. One runs by the hour from first use, one by consecutive calendar days, and one by a number of choices within a month.[4][3][1] The fifth product, the Paris Self-Guided Audio Tour, is commentary on your own phone and includes no admission.[5]

XTOUR could not read the official Paris Museum Pass site or Go City's site on 3 October 2026; both refused the request. So this guide states what SkyGate's listings say, names no included attraction that the sources do not, and repeats none of the listings' saving percentages or queue claims.

Paris Museum Pass: hours from first use

Paris Museum Pass is described by SkyGate as access to more than 50 museums and monuments in Paris and its surrounding region.[1] The listing has four options. The 2-Day Pass is valid for 48 hours after first use and the 4-Day Pass for 96 hours. For both, the voucher is exchanged for a physical pass at the Paris City Vision - Louvre Agency, 3 Place des Pyramides, which SkyGate says is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. SkyGate's option terms give a full refund for cancellation at least 48 hours before the travel date. The other two options are the same Museum Pass and cruise combos sold on the listing below.[1]

A pass does not replace a venue's own booking rules. The Sainte-Chapelle's FAQ, for example, tells visitors with a museum pass that they must still book a time slot.[7] The Hôtel de la Marine's practical page lists Paris Museum Pass holders among its free-admission categories for the Intendant's apartments tour.[6]

Paris Museum Pass with a Seine cruise

Paris Museum Pass and Seine Cruise Combo pairs a 2-Day or 4-Day Museum Pass with a Bateaux Parisiens sightseeing cruise on the Seine with a multilingual audio guide. SkyGate says the Museum Pass must be redeemed on your selected travel date, while the cruise can be taken at a date and time of your choice within the voucher's validity. The voucher is validated at pontoon 3, Port de la Bourdonnais, which SkyGate places at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.[2] The option text does not say where the physical Museum Pass is handed over. The 4-Day option's description calls it a two-day pass valid for 96 hours, an inconsistency XTOUR has not resolved. Both combo options are non-refundable.[2]

In XTOUR's reading, the two combo options on the Paris Museum Pass listing carry the same titles and redemption text as this listing, so buy the combo from either and compare the date you select. For cruise-only choices, see the Paris Seine river cruises compared guide on XTOUR.

The Paris Pass Plus: consecutive days, Museum Pass included

The Paris Pass Plus is a Go City pass with 2-Day, 4-Day and 6-Day options. SkyGate's option text says each includes access to more than 40 attractions and experiences, a digital guidebook and discounts, plus more than 50 museums and monuments with the Paris Museum Pass, all valid for the selected number of consecutive days. The page adds that once activated, the pass runs for consecutive calendar days regardless of the time of day. SkyGate says to use the Go City app to see what is included and to make any online reservations.[3] The page does not say how the Museum Pass part is delivered. SkyGate's terms give a full refund for cancellation at least 24 hours before the travel date.[3]

Go City Paris Explorer Pass: a number of choices

Go City Paris Explorer Pass is counted by choices rather than days: 3, 4 or 5 attractions and experiences. SkyGate's option text says it is valid for 30 consecutive days after first use and includes a digital guidebook and discounts.[4] SkyGate's Explorer page does not mention the Paris Museum Pass. Its page lists examples of included experiences, some of them outside Paris, but XTOUR could not check them against Go City's own list, so check the Go City app before choosing. Cancellation terms match The Paris Pass Plus.[4]

Paris Self-Guided Audio Tour: commentary on your phone

Paris Self-Guided Audio Tour is an audio guide used through an app on your own mobile device with your own headphones. SkyGate's option says admission to attractions is not included. The voucher text says to scan a QR code, activate the purchase, and download a map in the app, or to use the VoxCity app with the code provided. SkyGate's list of landmarks includes the Palace of Versailles, which is not in Paris; the landmarks are subjects of commentary, not visits included in the price. SkyGate states no start point, and the option is non-refundable.[5]

How to choose

  • Mostly museums and monuments, in 48 or 96 hours: Paris Museum Pass.
  • The same, plus a Seine cruise on another day: Paris Museum Pass and Seine Cruise Combo.
  • A wider mix of Go City attractions over consecutive days, with the Museum Pass included: The Paris Pass Plus.
  • Three to five chosen experiences spread over a month: Go City Paris Explorer Pass.
  • Commentary while walking, with tickets bought separately: Paris Self-Guided Audio Tour.

Before you book

  • Museum Pass vouchers on the pass-only options are exchanged at 3 Place des Pyramides, not at a museum.[1]
  • The combo's cruise voucher is validated at pontoon 3, Port de la Bourdonnais.[2]
  • Check the Go City app for the current attraction list and any reservations before activating a Go City pass.[4][3]
  • Some venues still require a time slot for pass holders; the Sainte-Chapelle's FAQ is one example.[7]

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Where do I collect the Paris Museum Pass bought on SkyGate?

For the two pass-only options, SkyGate's voucher text says to exchange the voucher for a physical pass at the Paris City Vision - Louvre Agency, 3 Place des Pyramides, 75001, and gives its hours as 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. For the combo options, the voucher text names pontoon 3 at Port de la Bourdonnais and does not say where the Museum Pass itself is handed over.

Does The Paris Pass Plus include the Paris Museum Pass?

Yes, according to SkyGate's option text, which says each Paris Pass Plus option includes access to more than 50 museums and monuments with the Paris Museum Pass, valid for the same number of consecutive days. SkyGate's page does not say how the Museum Pass part is delivered.

Which attractions are included in the Go City passes?

SkyGate's pages list some examples and point to the Go City app and guidebook for the full list. XTOUR could not read Go City's own site on 3 October 2026, so it does not repeat any inclusion; check the app before you count on one.

Does the self-guided audio tour get me into the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre?

No. According to SkyGate's option, admission to attractions is not included and may be bought separately; the product is commentary through an app on your own phone with your own headphones.
