Quick answer

According to SkyGate's listings read on 3 October 2026, the same 2-Visit Pass for the San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park is sold on its own and as an option of each park's ticket, and it can be used once at each park or twice at either. According to the operators, SeaWorld San Diego is in the City of San Diego, while LEGOLAND California is in Carlsbad and Sesame Place San Diego is in Chula Vista.

The short answer

Pick the park first, then the ticket. Animals in Balboa Park mean the San Diego Zoo; large open habitats in the San Pasqual Valley mean the Safari Park; both can go on one 2-Visit Pass.[3][2][1] For rides and marine shows, SeaWorld San Diego; for younger children, LEGOLAND California or Sesame Place San Diego.[6][5][4] Two of these parks are outside the City of San Diego, which matters when you plan the day: the operators give LEGOLAND's address in Carlsbad and Sesame Place's in Chula Vista.[12][11]

San Diego Zoo, the Safari Park, or both

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance says the San Diego Zoo is in Balboa Park, minutes from downtown San Diego, at 2920 Zoo Drive.[7] Wikidata places the Safari Park in the San Pasqual Valley area of San Diego County, and the City of San Diego says land in that valley was annexed to the city in the early 1960s.[9][8] SkyGate's listing gives the Safari Park a postal address in Escondido.[2] See the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park pages on XTOUR.

Three products sell the same 2-Visit Pass, and two of them also sell a single-park ticket:

  • The San Diego Zoo Ticket option San Diego Zoo - Admission includes the Guided Bus Tour, the Skyfari Aerial Tram, daily Wildlife Presentations and all regularly scheduled experiences. Its second option is the 2-Visit Pass.[1]
  • The San Diego Zoo Safari Park Ticket option Admission includes the Africa Tram, Cheetah Run and all regularly scheduled shows and exhibits. Its second option is the 2-Visit Pass.[2]
  • The 2-Visit Pass: San Diego Zoo + San Diego Zoo Safari Park sells the pass alone.[3]

The pass gives two visits in total, once at the Zoo and once at the Safari Park or twice at either, must be used by the same person, and is valid for one year from purchase, according to SkyGate.[3] XTOUR's reading: if you are sure of both parks, the pass covers them; if you are not, it does not oblige you to go to the second one. On child rules, SkyGate says children under 15 at the Zoo and under 16 at the Safari Park must be with a paying adult.[2][1]

SeaWorld San Diego: four ways in

The operator gives SeaWorld San Diego's address as 500 SeaWorld Drive, San Diego, and asks visitors to check park hours, showtimes and special events before a visit.[10] The SeaWorld San Diego Ticket: Direct Entry has four options, all with an e-ticket scanned at the park entrance:[4]

  • 1-Day "Any Day" Ticket with Direct Entry : one day, any day of the week, including weekends.[4]
  • BUY 1 ADULT, GET 1 CHILD FREE PROMO : one adult ticket that also brings one child aged 3 to 9.[4]
  • 1-Day "Any Day" Ticket with Direct Entry + All-Day Dining Deal : one day plus meals at participating restaurants, which SkyGate says can be redeemed as often as once every 90 minutes until closing.[4]
  • 2-Day "Any Day" Ticket with Direct Entry : two visits, the second within seven consecutive days of the first.[4]

SkyGate's option data gives validity dates of 31 October 2026 for the first option and 15 November 2026 for the promotion, earlier than the dates its calendars offer, and XTOUR has not been able to reconcile the two. SkyGate also says SeaWorld is a cashless park and that children under 3 still need a ticket collected on site.[4] See the SeaWorld San Diego page on XTOUR.

LEGOLAND California and its SEA LIFE Aquarium

LEGOLAND California Resort gives its address as One LEGOLAND Drive, Carlsbad, and lists the theme park, the SEA LIFE Aquarium, the Water Park and two hotels as parts of the resort. The resort says children aged 2 and above need a theme park ticket.[11]

The LEGOLAND California Theme Park Ticket has two options:[5]

  • 1-Day LEGOLAND California + Free SEA LIFE Aquarium Admission : the theme park and the aquarium on the same day.[5]
  • 2-Day Resort Hopper: LEGOLAND California + Water Park + SEA LIFE Aquarium Admission : adds the LEGOLAND Water Park, and the second day must be used within five days of the first.[5]

SkyGate's calendar for the Resort Hopper showed dates only up to 25 October 2026 when XTOUR checked on 3 October, while the 1-day option ran into January 2027.[5] SkyGate's page does not say when the Water Park's season ends, and XTOUR has not verified it. See the LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium at LEGOLAND California pages on XTOUR.

Sesame Place San Diego

The operator gives Sesame Place San Diego's address as 2052 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista, and describes family-friendly rides, Sesame Street characters and water attractions.[12] The Sesame Place San Diego Ticket is one single-day option with family rides and live shows. SkyGate says the water attractions run on a seasonal schedule and children under 3 go free.[6] The operator listed a Halloween event on select dates from 12 September to 1 November when XTOUR read its site, and points visitors to its calendar for park hours.[12] See the Sesame Place San Diego page on XTOUR.

How to choose

  • For one zoo day, the San Diego Zoo Ticket or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park Ticket on its single-park option.[2][1]
  • For both zoos, the 2-Visit Pass, sold alone or as an option of either park's ticket.
  • For SeaWorld, choose the option by days and dining: one day, one day with dining, two days within a week, or the adult-plus-child promotion.
  • For LEGO-themed rides with the aquarium, the LEGOLAND California 1-day option; for the water park too, the Resort Hopper while it is on sale.
  • For Sesame Street characters and toddler rides, the Sesame Place San Diego Ticket.

The San Diego CityPASS and the Go City passes also cover some of these parks; XTOUR's San Diego passes guide compares them.

Before you book

  • LEGOLAND California is in Carlsbad and Sesame Place San Diego in Chula Vista, not in the City of San Diego.[12][11]
  • Check SeaWorld's park hours before you go.[10]
  • Check the validity date shown for your SeaWorld option at checkout.[4]
