US theme parks: Orlando, Southern California or a day out

XTOUR lists theme-park tickets in two clusters, Orlando and Southern California, plus single parks reached from New York, Boston and San Francisco. This guide compares what each ticket actually admits you to, where each park really is, and the rules that differ, from Disneyland's park reservations to Universal Orlando's two-day ticket. It also says plainly what XTOUR does not list.

Quick answer

Choose Orlando for Universal Orlando's three theme parks, SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida in Winter Haven; choose Southern California for Disneyland's two parks in Anaheim, Universal Studios Hollywood, the Warner Bros. studio tour in Burbank, and SeaWorld, LEGOLAND and Sesame Place around San Diego. According to SkyGate's listings read on 3 October 2026, Disneyland tickets also need a park reservation for each day, and the Warner Bros. products are studio tours with no rides. XTOUR does not list Walt Disney World tickets.

The short answer

XTOUR's theme-park tickets fall into two clusters and a handful of single parks. Orlando has Universal Orlando's three theme parks and SeaWorld Orlando, with LEGOLAND Florida in a different city, Winter Haven. Southern California has Disneyland's two parks in Anaheim, Universal Studios Hollywood, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour (a working film studio you tour rather than ride), and three parks around San Diego. Outside those clusters, XTOUR lists parks reached from New York, Boston and San Francisco.

One gap first, because it decides many trips: none of the three Orlando theme-park products XTOUR lists covers Walt Disney World.[5][3][1] If Walt Disney World is the reason for your trip, XTOUR cannot sell you that ticket.

Theme park, studio tour or animal park?

Before choosing a region, decide what kind of day you want, because the products here are not all the same thing.

  • Ride parks. Universal's parks, Disneyland's two parks and the LEGOLAND parks are theme-park admissions.[17][10][1]
  • Studio tours. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood products are guided tours of a working studio, and SkyGate's listings describe sets, soundstages and self-guided exploration with no ride access.[11] The operator says backlot availability can change daily because of production on the lot.[12]
  • Parks with animals. The operator calls SeaWorld Orlando a theme park, zoo and aquarium.[4] LEGOLAND's resorts in California and Florida each include a SEA LIFE aquarium.[6][18]

Universal Studios Hollywood sits between the first two: SkyGate's general admission options name the Behind-The-Scenes Studio Tour among the park's attractions.[8] XTOUR's reading is that it suits a group split between rides and film sets.

Orlando

Universal Orlando Resort. The Universal Orlando Resort Ticket is a single option: Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure park-to-park on one day, then Universal Epic Universe on a separate day. SkyGate says it is valid over five consecutive calendar days from the date you select, and marks it non-refundable. The resort lists Universal Volcano Bay as a water park alongside the three theme parks; this ticket does not name it, so XTOUR does not treat it as included.[2][1]

SeaWorld Orlando. Every one of SkyGate's six options includes one day at SeaWorld Orlando. The larger bundles add a day at Aquatica Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa or Adventure Island Tampa, with every park visited within 14 days of the first. Two of those parks are in Tampa, not Orlando.[3]

LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The operator gives its address as 1 Legoland Way, Winter Haven, and Wikidata places the resort in Winter Haven, not Orlando.[7] The resort has four parts: the LEGOLAND Theme Park, the LEGOLAND Water Park, SEA LIFE Florida and Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida.[6] SkyGate sells seven options built around those parks.[5]

The Orlando theme park tickets guide compares every option, including SeaWorld's dining deal and LEGOLAND's two-day rules.

Southern California

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. SkyGate's listing gives Anaheim as the address. Its twelve options combine one, two or three days, one park per day or Park Hopper, and with or without a Lightning Lane Multi Pass. The rule that matters most: SkyGate's listing says every ticket needs a theme park reservation made online through a linked Disney account, one for each day, and its voucher text says a ticket does not guarantee park entry.[10]

Universal Studios Hollywood. SkyGate sells three standard options, 1 Day plus Express Admission, 1-Day General Admission and 2-Day General Admission, and a separate VIP Experience that adds a guided trolley and walking tour of movie sets, unlimited Universal Express access to participating rides and a meal.[9] SkyGate's page says ID or biometrics are required to enter the park.[8] The park's address is 100 Universal City Plaza, and a reverse address lookup puts it in Universal City, Los Angeles County, rather than in any city.[14][9]

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. The studio is in Burbank, and the operator describes guided tours of the lot, its soundstages, backlots and sets.[12] SkyGate's listing sells a guided tour in English, Spanish or French, or TCM's Classic Films Tour, and does not allow children under 5.[11]

The Los Angeles theme parks and studio tours guide compares these in detail. If you are combining several Los Angeles attractions, Go City's Los Angeles page said its All-Inclusive Pass includes Knott's Berry Farm and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, and its Plus version adds Universal Studios Hollywood, the San Diego Zoo and LEGOLAND California.[13] The US city passes explained guide sets out how those passes count days.

Around San Diego. The operators give SeaWorld San Diego's address in San Diego, LEGOLAND California's in Carlsbad and Sesame Place San Diego's in Chula Vista.[19][16] LEGOLAND's theme park ticket includes its SEA LIFE Aquarium, and the resort says children aged 2 and above need a theme park ticket.[17][18] Sesame Place sells one single-day option with family rides and live shows, and SkyGate says its water attractions run on a seasonal schedule.[20] SeaWorld San Diego's options include a two-visit ticket, with the second visit within seven consecutive days of the first.[15] More in San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and LEGOLAND.

One park from another base

Three cities on XTOUR have theme parks outside them. XTOUR's reading is that each is a separate day out from its city rather than part of a city day. All three Six Flags parks below had short booking calendars when XTOUR read them on 3 October 2026.

  • From New York City: LEGOLAND New York, which LEGOLAND places in Goshen, New York, with seven themed lands.[22] It is the only park here with transport in one option, a Coach USA coach from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.[21] Six Flags Great Adventure, which Six Flags places in Jackson, New Jersey, is sold in date-tier options that showed few open dates.[24][23] See New York immersive museums, zoos and family days.
  • From Boston: Six Flags New England, which OpenStreetMap places in Agawam, Massachusetts, while the operator gives its location as Springfield.[26][25] SkyGate's calendars showed no dates after 31 October 2026.[27] See Boston attractions, cruises and passes.
  • From San Francisco: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, which the operator places in Vallejo, California, a park with rides and animal exhibits.[29][28] See San Francisco museums and city passes.

Orlando or Southern California?

XTOUR does not compare prices, crowds or travel times, so this is a choice about which parks you want and how the tickets work.

  • Choose Orlando if your must-haves are Universal's three theme parks, including Epic Universe, or SeaWorld with optional add-on parks.[3][1]
  • Choose Southern California if you want Disneyland, a studio tour, or a mix of a theme park and film history in one trip.[8][11][10]
  • For younger LEGO fans, both regions have a LEGOLAND resort, in Winter Haven, Florida, and Carlsbad, California.[18][6]
  • For Walt Disney World, look elsewhere: XTOUR does not list it.

Before you book

  • Disneyland: make a park reservation online for each day of your ticket.[10]
  • Universal Orlando: plan both park days inside the five-day window; the option is non-refundable.[1]
  • Universal Studios Hollywood: bring ID for the entrance.[8]
  • Check each park's own calendar for operating days; several listings ask you to.[28][16][5]
