Why go
Algeti National Park, established in 1965, lies in Tetritskaro Municipality on the eastern Trialeti range, between 1,100 and 1,950 m, with a cool, moist climate. Its forests include Caucasian spruce and Nordmann fir. Visits start in the small town of Manglisi, where the park's visitor centre is at 4 Kurorti Street and the main entrance is near the Cathedral of the Assumption. The national tourism administration describes five hiking routes, from easy to moderately difficult; one is a two-day walk over the Samepo Kedi ridge with a tourist cottage on the way. The park agency's marked "Sanepo Ridge" trail starts at the cathedral. Guides and horses can be hired. The tourism administration records more than 1,600 plant species and over 100 bird species, with bears and wolves among its mammals.
Getting there
The visitor centre is at 4 Kurorti Street in Manglisi, which is the map pin. The main entrance and the start of the ridge trail are near Manglisi Cathedral, about 1.8 km west. The Agency of Protected Areas notes that the park is open to visitors year-round but that heavy snow makes winter access difficult (read 1 October 2026).
