Dashbashi (Tsalka) Canyon

დაშბაშის კანიონი · წალკის კანიონი · Tsalka Canyon · Dashbash Canyon · Dashbashi Canyon Natural Monument

An eight-kilometre gorge of the Ktsia–Khrami river through volcanic rock beside Dashbashi village in Tsalka Municipality, protected as a natural monument, with waterfalls running down its walls.

Why go

The Ktsia–Khrami river has cut this canyon through volcanogenic rock beside the village of Dashbashi on the Tsalka plateau, between about 1,110 and 1,450 metres above sea level. The national tourism administration gives the gorge as eight kilometres long and describes the Crying Wall, a curtain of small waterfalls streaming down the cliffs, as well as natural and man-made caves. The Agency of Protected Areas protects the canyon as a natural monument and describes a visitor centre from which a 1.8-kilometre trail goes down into the canyon to a waterfall, about an hour there and back. The Diamond Bridge, a glass footbridge run by the Kass Land complex, crosses the canyon and has its own entry.
