Belfast City Hall
Belfast City Hall is Belfast City Council's civic building on Donegall Square in the centre of Belfast, opened in 1906, with guided public tours and a self-guided visitor exhibition.
Why go
Belfast City Hall is Belfast City Council's civic building in Donegall Square; the council says its doors first opened on 1 August 1906 and its grounds hold the Titanic Memorial Garden, the Cenotaph and the Garden of Remembrance. The council's tours page says daily guided public tours in English are sold at the City Hall Reception desk on the day, first come, first served, that late arrivals are not admitted, and that public tours do not currently include the Council Chamber. A permanent visitor exhibition on the ground floor east wing, opened in 2017, offers a self-guided journey through the city's past and present; its tickets are also sold at reception on the day. City Hall is a working building that hosts many events, so the council says function rooms are only shown when possible. This record is the building, not the separate exhibition item.
