Diamond Head State Monument, also known as Leahi, is a Hawaii State Parks unit on the island of Oahu, in the City and County of Honolulu, just east of Waikiki. According to the Department of Land and Natural Resources, read on 3 October 2026, the summit trail starts on the crater floor and runs 0.8 mile to the summit, steep and strenuous with a 560-foot gain and a lighted 225-foot tunnel. It was built in 1908 as part of Oahu's coastal defence system, and the summit Fire Control Station was completed in 1911. Since 12 May 2022 non-residents need entry and parking reservations, and payment is by credit card only. On the date read the park was open 6 am to 6 pm daily, last entry 4:30 pm; check before you travel.
