Why go
Fujairah Fort is the restored historic fort in the old part of Fujairah city; it is a separate place from the Fujairah Museum. The Fujairah government's places-to-visit list says the fort has three round towers and one square tower and was built of local stone, gravel, mud, straw and sarooj plaster. The same list says carbon-14 analysis dated its construction to 1500 to 1550, with rebuilding in 1650 to 1700, and that the Department of Antiquities and Heritage restored the fort and its towers in 1998 to 2000 using the original materials. The list does not say whether the interior is open to visitors, so check before you go.
