Hili Archaeological Park
حديقة آثار الهيلي
Hili Archaeological Park is a public garden around Bronze Age tombs and remains at Hili in Al Ain, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, centred on the Hili Grand Tomb.
Why go
Hili Archaeological Park combines a public garden with Bronze Age remains at Hili; Visit Abu Dhabi gives its location as Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street, Al Ain. Its centrepiece is the Hili Grand Tomb, which the page dates to about 2000 BCE: a circular tomb up to 12 metres across with two entrances decorated with engraved reliefs of human and animal figures. The page says an early agricultural village at Hili Site 8 dates to 3000 BCE and that a number of Bronze Age structures inside the park are open to the public, while the park itself is chiefly a garden. Visit Abu Dhabi describes the park as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Al Ain; this record is the park, not the World Heritage property and not Hili Oasis or the Hili tombs outside it.
