Krimml Waterfalls

Krimmler Wasserfälle

The Krimml Waterfalls are the waterfalls of the Krimmler Ache above the village of Krimml in the state of Salzburg, falling 380 metres in three stages, with a footpath along them.

Why go

The Krimml Waterfalls are where the Krimmler Ache drops in three stages, 380 metres in all, at the end of its valley above Krimml; the operator places them in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The waterfalls' site is published by the Warnsdorf-Krimml section of the Austrian Alpine Association (ÖAV), which says the waterfall trail, with numerous viewing points and pulpits, was built in 1900, follows a first path built around 1835, and leads from the lowest fall up to the uppermost fall and on into the Krimmler Achental. The operator says there is an information point at the entrance to the waterfalls. This record is the falls, not the WasserWelten Krimml visitor centre.
