Kunsthaus Bregenz
Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB) is an exhibition house for contemporary art on Karl-Tizian-Platz in Bregenz, a building by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor opened in 1997.
Why go
Kunsthaus Bregenz says its building was designed by Peter Zumthor, built from 1994 to 1997 and opened in 1997, and is clad in 712 panels of etched glass that take daylight into the exhibition floors; Zumthor describes it as standing 'in the light of Lake Constance'. The house shows changing exhibitions of contemporary art, with work also shown on the KUB Billboards along Seestraße. Its visit page says the house closes between exhibitions while the next one is installed, and that children aged ten or older may visit the exhibition on their own. This record is the exhibition house at Karl-Tizian-Platz, not the vorarlberg museum nearby.
