Lake Lucerne

Vierwaldstättersee

Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee) is a lake in central Switzerland shared by the cantons of Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden and Nidwalden.

Why go

Lake Lucerne, the Vierwaldstättersee, is a lake whose Wikidata item places it in the cantons of Uri, Lucerne, Obwalden, Schwyz and Nidwalden and classes it as an area that is not part of any municipality. The Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV) describes Lake Uri, between Brunnen and Flüelen, as a section of the lake, and its pages list boat departures from Lucerne to Weggis, Vitznau, Brunnen, Flüelen, Alpnachstad, Küssnacht am Rigi and the Bürgenstock. SGV's site says tickets are sold on all boats and at its stations, and that seats cannot be reserved except in the on-board restaurant, with registration asked of groups of ten or more. This record is the lake, with a point in the water; it is not a pier, the Rütli meadow (Q688537) or the Bürgenstock resort.
