Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park

อุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะอ่างทอง

Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park is a marine national park in the Gulf of Thailand west of Ko Samui, in Ko Samui District of Surat Thani Province; the Tourism Authority of Thailand describes it as an archipelago of 42 islands, and the Surat Thani Provincial Office calls it the province's only marine national park.

Why go

Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park is a marine national park covering an archipelago in the Gulf of Thailand west of Ko Samui; the record is the park, not any one island. In two 2021 features, the Tourism Authority of Thailand's newsroom said that only government-approved tour boats can enter the park and that day trips can be taken from Ko Samui, and named a visitor centre on Ko Wua Ta Lap and the Thale Nai lagoon on Ko Mae Ko, where it said swimming is forbidden. The Surat Thani Provincial Office places the park in Ko Samui District. TAT's January 2026 notice says the national park system closes some attractions every year for a period, that the National Park Office publishes a list of their open and closed status, and that visitors should find out about each park's rules before visiting.
