Why go
Ao Phang Nga National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติอ่าวพังงา) is a national park in Phang Nga province covering part of Phang Nga Bay. The Department of Tourism's Thailand Tourism Directory says it was declared a national park by a decree published in the Government Gazette on 29 April 1981, and that it covers about 400 square kilometres from Mueang Phang Nga district along the coast to Takua Thung district, with sea making up more than 80 percent of the park, large mangrove forests and about 51 islands, among them Koh Panak, Koh Hong and Khao Phing Kan. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's newsroom also places Khao Phing Kan and Khao Tapu in the park. The Department of National Parks' own pages could not be read in this session, so nothing is said here about entry, fees, boat access or seasonal closures. The map pin is the middle of the park's mapped boundary, on the water of the bay: it is not a headquarters, pier or landing.
