Why go
Karon Beach (Hat Karon) is a beach in Karon subdistrict on Phuket island, between Patong and Kata beaches. Karon Subdistrict Municipality's page says it is a little over 3 km long and fairly straight, with very fine white sand, backed by a long dune covered in beach morning glory with purple flowers, and that walkways lead down to the beach at intervals so that visitors do not trample the plants. The same page says a statue of the naga (พญานาค, Phaya Nak) stands in the middle of the beach as its symbol. This record is the beach, not Karon Noi Beach (Wikidata Q49321479) or the Karon subdistrict. The map pin is a point on the sand standing for the whole beach.
