Why go
Promthep Cape (Laem Promthep, แหลมพรหมเทพ) is the headland at the southern end of Phuket island, in Rawai subdistrict. Rawai Subdistrict Municipality's page describes it as the cape at the southern tip of Phuket province, a sunset viewpoint and the site of the Kanchanaphisek Lighthouse (ประภาคารกาญจนาภิเษก), says the very tip of the cape is called Laem Chao (แหลมเจ้า), and notes the large stand of palms on the point running out to sea. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's newsroom places it between Nai Han and Rawai beaches and says that on a clear day Ko Phi Phi, Ko Racha Yai and Ko Racha Noi can be seen from the outdoor terrace of the lighthouse. This record is the cape; the map pin is the mapped viewpoint on it, not the lighthouse or the cape tip.
