Musée de Montmartre

Musée de Montmartre is the art and history museum of Montmartre, in a 17th-century building at 12 rue Cortot overlooking the Clos Montmartre vineyard.

Why go

The Musée de Montmartre, established in 1960, is a museum of art and history of Montmartre in one of the oldest buildings on the Butte, a 17th-century house at 12 rue Cortot, 75018 Paris, that was once a meeting place and home for artists. Its permanent collections include the studio of the artist Suzanne Valadon, and its grounds overlook the Clos Montmartre vineyard, with gardens the museum says are inspired by works Renoir painted on site. Café Renoir is on the site. The museum's page read on 3 October 2026 says the Demarne Garden and Café Renoir close on Saturday 10 October 2026.
