თბილისის ეთნოგრაფიული მუზეუმი ღია ცის ქვეშ · Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography · Giorgi Chitaia Open Air Museum of Ethnography

Traditional houses and household and craft objects gathered from across Georgia and set out over 52 hectares of hillside west of Turtle Lake in Tbilisi's Vake district.

Why go

The museum lets you walk from region to region: dwellings brought from different parts of the country, among them a nineteenth-century Megrelian sajalabo house and a Kakhetian house, set among more than 8,000 objects of everyday and craft use. It is a compact way, without leaving Tbilisi, to see how rural Georgians built and lived in very different landscapes, and it suits families and anyone planning to travel on into the regions. It is part of the Georgian National Museum. Turtle Lake, just to the east, makes a pleasant add-on.
