Why go
This record is the Sharjah Archaeology Museum in Sharjah city, not the Mleiha Archaeological Centre inland. The Sharjah Museums Authority says the museum first opened in 1993 and moved to its current location on 10 May 1997, and that its mission is to preserve, interpret and exhibit the artefacts found in Sharjah since excavations began in 1973; its displays cover the region's inhabitants from the Stone Age to the rise of Islam. In May 2022 the authority opened the Little Archaeologist Hall there, an interactive hall for children aged 5 to 12. The museum's page links to online ticketing and to separate school and academic visit booking.
