Why go

This record is Sharjah Fort, known as Al Hisn, in the Heart of Sharjah behind Souq Al Shanasiya. The Sharjah Museums Authority says the fort was built in 1823 of coral stone, served as the residence of the ruling Al Qasimi family and as the headquarters of Sharjah's government, and first opened as a museum in 1997, reopening in 2015 after several restoration phases. Its rooms cover the modern history of Sharjah, the ruling family, the fort's defences and the Al Muhalwasa jail. The authority's Heritage Joint Ticket covers the fort with four other Heart of Sharjah museums, and its page says tickets are available at those museums.
