Sharjah Maritime Museum
متحف الشارقة البحري
The Sharjah Maritime Museum is a Sharjah Museums Authority museum of Sharjah's seafaring heritage, pearl diving, fishing and sea trade, at Al Khan next to the Sharjah Aquarium.
Why go
This record is the Sharjah Maritime Museum at Al Khan, not the Sharjah Aquarium beside it. The Sharjah Museums Authority says the museum first opened in 2003 in the Heritage Area and reopened in a new building at Al Khan on 7 June 2009. It covers traditional fishing methods, sea songs, pearl diving and trade voyages, with wooden dhows and pearls on display. The authority sells a joint ticket for the museum and the Sharjah Aquarium, and its page says the tickets are available at those museums.
