A roofless 7th-century cathedral in Talin's cemetery, its dome and outer walls brought down by earthquakes in 1840 and 1931, with fragments of apostle frescoes still visible in the apse.

Why go
Even as a shell the building reads clearly: a twelve-sided drum still rises over the centre, and two small chambers flank the apse, each with a passage opening at second-storey level. The ruin dominates the cemetery around it, so walk the outside as well as the interior. By the cemetery entrance stands a much smaller cross-plan church of the Holy Mother of God with a tiled octagonal dome, whose tympanum inscription names Nerseh, lord of Shirak and Asharunik, as its builder. Talin sits on the Yerevan–Gyumri road, which makes it an easy break on that drive.
